Hotel Indigo - Columbus at Riverfront Place by IHG

Although me and my husband live just over the bridge in Phenix City, I thought it would be nice to book a river view room for my husbands birthday. The staff was very nice, the valet service was excellent, however the cleanliness of the room was NOT ok, especially since the room was $375.00. My husband found several used toothpicks under a chair, the floor had not been swept, food crumbs on the floor by the bed, the bath mat had brown spots on it, and there were cobwebs in the corners of the window. Also, the phone in the room did not even work. My husband had to use his cell to call the reservation line just to ask if the cleaning service could possibly come and clean our room. He was told that they could put us in another room, not that someone could come and clean. The hotel itself is quite lovely, however they really need to pay attention to whoever is in charge of cleaning their rooms. Do better, Columbus Hotel Indigo!

While the staff were all very kind, friendly and helpful, the hotel systems and infrastructure were somewhat less than ideal. For example, the phone inside the hotel room was nonfunctional and to call for service I needed to use my cell phone, to call the front desk, to get transferred to the appropriate department. I needed to call multiple times to have house keeping send up an extra blanket and it took hours to arrive. Each one of our room service orders was missing an item, every single time. I felt bad having to call room service repeatedly to have them bring up missing food or drinks. The shower was also very slippery and lacked a mat. I hat to lay down a towel so I would slip. I also slammed my finger in the handle of the sliding bathroom door. The door needs to have a stopper or a soft close, or the handle needs to be repositioned. That aside, the staff were apologetic and kind. The bed was comfy. The hotel lobby was clean, modern and comfortable. I think the service can be greatly improved with better staff training, bathroom safety issues and systems in place.

Everything was great , service, room, beautiful bar on top floor overlooking river, pool.

Great location in downtown Columbus GA. The hotel was creatively decorated using historic themes of Columbus. Very unique and entertaining.

The room telephone didn’t work. A temporary problem, I was told, because of a phone system changeover.

It’s was great, clean, friendly and accommodating.

I had one of the worst experiences

The valet area and the check in desk areas should be switched around. Had breakfast/brunch there and it was excellant!
