Amazing place, almost heaven on earth. Very good kitchen, cocktails and mood. Wonderful staff, always here to help or give good advices. No inconvenience related to night beach clubs (they are far) or the electrical generators (not close to the rooms). What a relaxing place. The boat tour in the reserve is a thing to do. If you want to stay more than 2/3 days, you should have a car to move around.

What was missing to give it a score of 11/10? We found it a pity that the seaweed wasn't removed right in front of the private beach (although we understand that this is the case during the high season). Also, perhaps the Wi-Fi connection on the beach could be improved (unless it's intentional in order to force guests to disconnect!). A few new bikes could also be added to the fleet. And although the food is of exceptional quality, the price is high (although the geographical distance must also be taken into account). The wine menu (100% Mexican) would also benefit from being expanded. But all this in no way takes away from the fact that we had an incredible stay! Thank you to all the team!

A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home After six trips to Tulum, we finally found a place we’d return to again and again. La Libélula isn’t just a hotel—it’s a feeling. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like part of a family. Jorge welcomed us with a smooth check-in and was kind and available throughout our stay. Armandito curated the bar with intention and soul—only local Mexican spirits, honoring the region’s flavors and traditions. Sam - Hands down some of the best craft cocktails, Manzur - always made sure our food was always on point and received the best service. The food was equally memorable. From fresh, local breakfast options (and GF if that’s your thing) to the most flavorful ceviche and aguachile. Don’t forget to try the fish with the yucca puree for dinner. La Libélula is not about cookie-cutter luxury or robotic service. It’s about being seen, feeling at peace, and truly unwinding. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. It’s the kind of place that stays with you—where the people, the energy, and the care make it more than just a vacation. We can’t wait to come back.

Libelula Tulum is a true hidden gem. We’re so glad we chose to stay here over any of the other resorts—which often seemed three times the price, far more chaotic, and frankly, lacking that special something. Libelula is the opposite: an authentic, intimate, and safe retreat that feels like a well-kept secret. With its stunning beachfront location, beautifully designed accommodations, deliciously authentic food, and the heartfelt hospitality of Jorge and his incredible team, it stands out as a truly unique destination. We left with cherished memories and a desire to return to this slice of paradise. Jorge — a special shout out to you. You made our stay unforgettable. You welcomed us like family, and that warmth stayed with us long after we left. The way you, Manzur, Miguel, and the rest of the team care for each guest makes all the difference. If you’re looking for stiff, overly formal service, this isn’t the place — and that’s exactly why we loved it. The staff here are real, kind, and genuinely passionate about what they do, with loads of good stories to boot. If you’re considering a place to stay in Tulum that’s authentic, laid-back, has gorgeous beaches, amazing food, and even better people — this is it. You’d be crazy not to enjoy your experience here. Every single detail, from the vibe to the bean bags on the beach, is thoughtful, top-notch, and full of heart.

There is no hotel here, just 9 guest rooms arranged on a lovely, private beach-front property inside the Kian Sa'an Biosphere Reserve! You wake up hearing the sea. You go to sleep hearing the sea. The most difficult decision you'll make every day is what to have for your next meal. The food was wonderful!

Distance (driving times) to some sites we wanted to visit was longer than we expected. Not a problem. We had more beach time.

Very good location in Tulum Beach, perfect to disconnect and relax. Comfortable room. Delicious food.

The staff was rather nice and friendly apart from one person (the older guy) who was totally unfriendly during our stay, too bad he was the one attending us most of the time ☹️ Also the common areas could be much more welcoming with more maintenance, there is a bit of neglect which is not acceptable given the price!

Amazing views, comfort and delicious food

Our stay at Libelula felt like we were visiting friends. Our room was located at the beach with a nice terrace and a great view. You’re in the middle of the nature at a very private beach since there are obly 9 rooms and no hotels next to Libelula. During the day the beach bar is open with great music. The food was perfect and also the drinks were great. We’re definetely coming back! The hospitality was outstanding. Special thanks to Jorge and Miguel for being such great hosts and lovable guys. We already miss you guys and Libelula!
