Libelula Tulum Beachfront Hotel

Libelula Tulum Beachfront Hotel truly exceeded my expectations. We stayed for 10 glorious days. The rooms were tasteful and comfortable, with breathtaking ocean views nestled in the privacy and tranquil part of a nature reserve. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure every need was met. The beach was stunning, perfect for relaxation and sunset gazing. The food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend this gem for a tranquil and unforgettable Tulum experience. A special thanks to Armandito who made us feel like family. You are a special type of human. Keep on doing what you do. Also thanks to Miguel, Mansour, Sam, George and Karla for making our stay memorable.

We spend 10 days at Libelula, had an amazing experience. The best part was relaxing in the most calming nature reserve. It was exactly what we needed. Quiet, comfortable, great food and fantastic service. The sky room as well as the bed was like floating on water, the sound of the waves rocked us to sleep every night. It was amazing NOT to wear shoes for 10 days and the hotel started to feel like home almost immediately, We rode bicycles into town a couple of times just to get an ideas of what we were missing, and couldn't wait to get back. Dont get me wrong the town is great but if you would like to feel uninhibited and not deal with pretence well then THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. Thank you all, Jorge, Maysir, Miguel, Carla and of course Armando who entertained us with his stories every night. Thank you all for your gracious hospitality. We will be back!

- Beautiful beach/ location inside the National Park - Lovely staff - Good restaurant - Good drinks, good bar - Nice sunbeds at the beach

- Room/ tent was old and felt like it needed renovation - In 4 days our towels weren't changed once (no place to hang the towel, so it doesn't dry properly) - Only one tiny rack to hang 3-4 shirts, no closet, no space to hang clothes/ towels - No separation between bedroom and bathroom/toilet - Very dark inside the tent after sunset - Can be loud at night, as the bar is literally just outside the tent, so it can feel like sleeping in a nightclub (it is supposed to close at 10pm, but most nights loud music played way longer) - Yes it is a "glamping" tent, but there were many big spiders and bugs as well as ants in our room, woke up with a cockroach on my arm one night - feel like its possible to eliminate them with better flooring and fixing holes in the tent Do keep in mind that you have to pay 250Pesos extra Per Person/ Per Day (!) as the hotel is located in the National Park! Adding this to the hotel bill, I fear value for money is not that good (even though it is Tulum, which is an expensive place). It is more on the "camping" side of the "glamour camping", although other room categories might be nicer (but more expensive too).

We loved the eco lodge. It’s isolated, far from the beach clubs which is great. The bar manager was super nice with us. There are only guests on the beach so you have your bed on the beach in the shade and you can enjoy the quiet.

The tents are not isolated so there is AC but it’s still very warm. You also hear the bar until 10pm. The prices were very high. In the room they “offer” you some drinkable water for 9 euros… The sea is full of seaweed so it’s not very pleasant to go dive in the sea.

The hotel is at the southern end of Tulum beach, so it was secluded and quiet. Our room was clean, and included air-con. Soap in the shower was nice, too. Everyone, both guests and staff, were very friendly. The property was clean and well-maintained. There is no cell service, but the Wi-Fi was strong.

The hotel is inside the Reserve, so there is a 215 peso per person charge to enter the biosphere. It was quite far from restaurants, so we ate meals onsite. The food was good, but preparation times were slow. Not a big deal when you’re on vacation, but do not expect to receive any food prior to a 30 minute wait. No outside food or drink is allowed, and a 15% service charge was added to our food bill (maybe that was negotiable, but didn’t seem like it at the time).

It was amazing! Best fish tacos I ever had. The beach was mostly empty. There was always a bed with shade on the beach. We paid for everything at the end so we wouldn't have to carry our wallets all the time. I would recommend this place to everyone, especially couples.

Laid back feel and seclusion

This was my 3rd time staying at Libelula and honestly it spoils my experience at any other hotel in Tulum. Only place I want to stay when I come to Tulum. It’s hard to capture with words the magic of the space, the design, the staff. The food is consistently good, I’ve tried almost every dish at this point and I’ve loved them all. You also feel like you’re part of the family and it’s set up in a way where you feel comfortable to hang out and meet and make new friends…love it, 5 stars all around! ❤️🤌🏻
