Oakland Motel

The staff were friendly and professional and tried to help. I checked out after one night (had reservations for two) and was promised a refund which I did not get.

The list is LONG. The property has changed hands, and is being renovated. I used toiled paper and towels to plug cracks around the air conditioner and the door. There was no deadbolt or safety chain on the door. Fortunately, I was dressed when a man keyed in the lock number, opened the door, and walked in my room. He seemed to be as surprised as I was, and immediately left. Got conflicting stories about why this happened. I blocked the door with the chair and spent an uneasy night. I checked out the next morning, and was promised a refund which I did not get.

Smooth and easy check in process. Room was pretty comfortable.

Room smelled like smoke

Clean, well-appointed room. Had a microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge, hair dryer. Also had a desk near the window.

Check-in was way too much of an adventure do to closed office. Walls thin (shouting "neighbors" at night, constant traffic noise from the 30mph street). Also, "surprise" charge on my credit card for an additional "fee".

Location very convenient.

Loud people in rooms next to us. Extremely rude when asked to quiet down. Cable was out.

Comfortable bed

I had a pre registration for my ADA service dog. There was no one at the hotel on my arrival or departure. I left the room clean and also a 10.00 tip. I was charged a xtra 150.00 clean up fee for the dog hair in the room. I called and the desk clerk told me they had charged for the hair or, maybe they had the wrong room. I was told the manager would call me. They never did.
