Hammetts Hotel

No extras which should be included for the price paid. $4 for a bottle of water is ridiculous, it should be free. No one to help w/bags. Queen room was way too small, not enough storage. Only good for a 1-2 night stay. Did not feel like a valued guest, especially for the price. A great location, which I unfortunately feel like Hammetts takes for granted, at the expense of providing superior service.

The hotel was very basic, nothing extravagant. Clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, someone made a terrible decision to mount the 1st floor restaurant speakers on the outside of some of the 2nd floor rooms which forced you to have to listen to loud music until 11:00 each night. Terrible design, absolutely terrible. They need to remove those exterior speakers and place them on the main deck or simply remove them altogether. Room was small and water pressure was just ok. Also to note, they bang you $45/night additional charge for parking which is Ridiculous. The only redeeming quality of this Hotel is that it’s location was right in the middle of everything.

I came and stayed at Hammet to celebrate my 40th bd with 2 of my gfs, we loved staying here for the facility, the convenience of how close the hotel is to all the downtown main attractions, walkable distance to all the restaurants we wanted to eat. It was simply amazing stay. Easy check in/ check out with nice valet car parking service. We will definitely be back.

Room was extremely small and extremely expensive for the size and accomodations. $1303.74 for two nights is not worth it. No in house dining, no room refrig, no pool, no gym, etc...The staff wouldn't even provide details about tours or any outside activities. I would not stay here in future.

Other than the front desk person being unfriendly and unhelpful (at all) at check in, this was a perfect hotel located next to the marina.

Rooms were very clean, great hotel atmosphere. Staff was exceptional.

Staff are not friendly. They never smile, and if you ask them a question they answer as if they are doing you a favor. Sheets and pillow cases were not changed during my three day stay. I found a nail on the floor at the feet of the bed.

Located along Newport's historic commercial district, home to many past America's Cup 12m sailing events, and the many nearby mega-mansions of the Gilded Age industrialists that brought style, prestige and money to the fabled Narragansett Bay area. Hammetts offers exceptional value for cost. Location, access, safety, dining and shopping options, convenient parking....all wrapped in well appointed spacious rooms and casual spaces. The value lies in the details...and a visit will prove the point.
