Nothing really. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Our experience was extremely disappointing, and I would never recommend this property to anyone. Overall, this hotel appears far more focused on controlling guests and extracting additional revenue than on providing acceptable hospitality. Between the poor conditions, unhygienic rooms, indifferent staff, rude management, transportation restrictions, and unreasonable policies, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.

The hotel is poorly maintained and offers shockingly low standards of cleanliness and service. The rooms are outdated and in disrepair, with damaged flooring full of holes, broken furniture, torn curtains, and ants throughout the room. To make matters worse, I even found a mouse in my room. When I reported these issues, the staff showed little concern and took no meaningful action. The food was terrible, and the staff were consistently unprofessional, inexperienced, and rude. Overall, the service feels decades behind modern hospitality standards. The hotel grounds are dirty and neglected, with stray dogs roaming the property and their feces left uncleared, creating an unpleasant and unhygienic environment for guests. The hotel director was particularly rude and behaved as though he were above both guests and basic customer service standards. He refused to allow guests to park near the hotel or arrive directly by taxi, seemingly in an effort to force guests to use the hotel's transportation service, which was priced at several times the normal rate. Whenever we questioned these restrictions, we received a different excuse. At various times, we were told that cars would "damage the asphalt," that the asphalt had "just been installed," or that vehicles were prohibited because the building was "historical." Yet the director, staff members, and other authorized vehicles regularly drove directly onto the property and parked without issue. This blatant double standard made the explanations impossible to take seriously. Management's justification that these restrictions were intended to preserve guest comfort is equally unconvincing. The hotel frequently hosts large wedding events involving loud music, intoxicated guests, shouting, and unrestricted vehicle access for wedding attendees and staff. Applying one set of rules to hotel guests and another to everyone else is not guest comfort, it is selective enforcement.

Je gaat naar dit hotel voor de ervaring van de oude stijl. Het gebouw is prachtig en je loopt door de geschiedenis heen. Zeker de lange verbindings-serre naar de ontbijtzaal is prachtig. Het ontbijt heeft voldoende keuze. Met wat intercontinentale gerechten en georgische keuzes. Het gebouw is gigantisch en het is leuk om door het complex te dwalen: voelde als een verkenningstocht, wat werd versterkt door gebrek aam boordjes.

Er zijn geen fatsoenlijke parkeerplekken. De auto's mogen niet op het asfalt voor het hotel staan, maar moeten ergens aan de vervallen zijkant bij de dienstingang geplaatst worden. De kamers waren outdated, maar dan ook weer niet op een gave oude manier. Het gebouw is gigantisch en daarmee ook altijd in onderhoud en verbouwing. Ook toen wij er waren. Ze doen er overigens wel echt hun best voor om het gebouw te renoveren (wat bijna onbegonnen werk was). Er is buiten een enorm zwembad, maar deze is in zware renovatie. En het zou me verbazen als die in de komende weken in gebruik zal zijn. Dit hadden ze wel op booking mogen melden. Ook de receptioniste bij ontvangst gaf een raar verhaal waarom het zwembad even dicht zou zijn (ivm weer), maar dat was duidelijk niet de oorzaak.

It was interesting staying in this 1950s Soviet spa. There was a bit of refurbishment going on and it will be interesting to see when the place is finished. I hope they keep the original fittings that add character. The room was fine and it was nice sitting outside the breakfast area and looking up to the mountains. I would stay here again but when the pool is finished.

I was disappointed the pool was being refurbished and not available for use. It wasn't stated on Booking.com or the hotel's website that, that was the case.
