Lovely welcome. The staff were all very friendly and helpful during our stay. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant- both were exceptional quality. Would definitely recommend.

The location was ideal for the event we attended which was within walking distance but i wouldn't choose the location for any other reason it's in a small village with not a lot going on.

The room while decorated to a decent standard has reduced head height so you cannot stand up straight, you enter the bathroom first and there is just a curtain seperating the bedroom. The beds mattress was old, soft, and very uncomfortable. To enter the room you have to go through a narrow non descript door in the pub, into a very narrow, steep, badly lit staircase. It's not welcoming at all. I paid £170.00 including 2 breakfasts. We didn't get to eat the breakfast as from 12.15am- 3am in the morning other guests where having a party in the room below ours, with music loud enough that we could hear it. We finally got to sleep around 4am and slept through breakfast. Not ideal for the 4 hour drive home which is the reason we booked the room to be rested. I have since spoken to the property who couldn't have cared less and said the onus was on the other guests for the noise. You cannot park at this hotel either, there are spots for guests but these were full and we had to park a 10 minute walk away to avoid double yellow lines. I stay in hotels weekly as my work requires it, and i have stayed in some bad ones, usually if they are not great its reflected in the price. I have never felt compelled to write a review before and will be seeking a refund.
