The property is in need of general maintenance. It needs a new coat of paint inside and out. The dust and spiderwebs have accumulated between the plumbing and the ceiling. The spindles on the stairs dangle from the railing . This old house has settled so much, that there was a 2in slope from ons side of the room to the other.

Beautiful location overlooking the 4th lake. Staff were very polite and helpful, shout out to Thomas upstairs and Rebecca at the restaurant. It’s an old building that needs some love but everything else made up for it.

"great place, poor service"

6.0

Great place to stay, nice people. great location, but our room was never cleaned. trash never emptied even after asking. they said they would but never did (4 days) never changed towels either. it was like we were not there. conventional breakfast was later and later every day. the last day of our stay they were just setting it out at 9:30. for the price we paid I would have expected more

Place was lovely, old, atmospheric, basic, everything was wood, the lakeside setting and loons in chorus were all good. No A/C, no TV, no problem for me!

"We Couldn't Have Done Better !"

10.0

We booked at the Woods Inn for a small outside wedding and reception. We couldn't have asked for more. Stacy and her staff did an excellent job coordinating and arranging everything. The service was outstanding and the staff was efficient and friendly. The food and drinks were to die for, and the prices were affordable and fair We would HIGHLY recommend The Woods Inn for any event, small or large. We are so very, very happy we chose them for our special day.

"Sadly, no longer worth going here."

4.0

We have visited the Woods Inn three times over the past 8 years. Our first visit, in early October 2018, was fabulous. We loved the ambiance, the place was spotless and well cared for, and the Overlook restaurant was a gourmet feast. They also served a nice breakfast daily (if memory serves, it was a buffet, but with real food). Our second trip was a bit later in October 2022 and we learned that they were under new ownership. The Overlook restaurant was closed for the season, though we were not informed of that when we made reservations and they no longer served breakfast. It was a challenge to find a nice restaurant in the area on short notice and it was impossible to find a gluten free breakfast anywhere closer than Old Forge. Since the owners were new, we decided to give it one more try, during the summer season. We just went mid-week, the last full week of August 2025 and we're never going back. The place is clearly falling into disrepair in a variety of ways small and large. While their Overlook restaurant was nominally open (though not mid-week on either of the 2 nights we were there. However, we wouldn't have chosen to eat there anyway: the current menu resembles a tavern menu (sandwiches, fried things, etc.; I suspect it's the same menu for their tavern, just served in a slightly fancier room with views). They now have a "continental breakfast" consisting only of prepacked muffins and bagels (inedible for those who can't eat gluten). It's still hard to find breakfast (especially not gluten free) without driving to Old Forge. [While we did find one place in Inlet that served wonderful breakfast paninis, including GF ones, unfortunately they're closing after Labor Day and trying to sell the business.] Considering what it costs to stay for a night and how it has gone downhill, we won't be returning.
