The Woods Inn

The history of this property is amazing and the location and dock on the water can't be beat. Still a bit of work to be done with new ownership but I'm looking forward to see and stay here again in the future.

This is a great old hotel that was just transitioned to a new owner the day before we stayed for two nights. This created a had a few issues, our initial room was missing a screen on the main window - the staff made it right for us by moving us to another room - an upgrade from where we had booked. The dining areas weren't open yet however there were quite a few options for dining within a 5 minute walk. The location is perfect and they have a great dock that you can sit on to enjoy the views.

Wonder historic property. Right on the lake. Our hosts were wonderful and welcoming. Sense of seclusion and serenity yet walking distance to the hamlet’s shops and dining. We’ll make this a new favorite.

Our room was freezing. Had the plug in heater going all night but you could feel the cold from outside. Never warmed up and we didn’t sleep only 3 hours.

We love quiet off season getaways...this was perfect

There is no real staff. The dining room is closed, has been forever. The food is awful. We were served molded green parmesan cheese over an awful dish that was supposed to be a red sauce. Green cheese, and not even a discount or comp at dinner. Disgusting. Our room looked nice, good view, charming, till night and no heat whatsoever. Then the bed broke because the slats supporting the mattress were cut too short. I actually injured my shin. We moved ourselves to another room. After all that, instead of a refund, I was offered an electronic gift card for 50 bucks. This place was expensive, and I paid more for what was supposed to be a better room. Don't eat there, for sure! It's a charming, once magnificent, inn, that hasn't been maintained and is clearly just trying to get by until a new owner steps in. Amazing view of Fourth Lake from the rooms. Too bad it is run so poorly.

Such a beautiful inn and the view- WOW! We wanted to love every aspect of this place but the guest service was lacking in fact, non-existent. In our two night stay we never saw a person at the front desk. No one checked in on us or welcomed us to the inn. We did arrive very late and they were very accommodating with that though. We did meet a woman who we think may have managed or owned the in. But she did not introduce herself nor ask who we were or anything about us staying there. It was not a cheap stay and I would have liked some attention at the very least followup after our late check in. The town must be very safe as all the doors to front and back of the inn seemed to be unlocked at all times. We would give it a five star for the property and the inn. But a one star for service and hospitality.

It was the first time I stayed there and it was very nice. I would stay there again.
