"Rustic and Basic on a Lake"

6.0

This place is rustic and has been around for over 100 years. It does show its age, but the room was comfortable (no air conditioning) and the staff was friendly. They do not serve breakfast, but the Overlook restaurant provided us with a fine dining experience on a Monday night. The pub did have some good beer on draft. However, both of these restaurants were closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, its a quick walk to town for eating options. They could do better with amenities such as hair dryers and liquid soap as well as at least having a coffee & tea station for guests. Inlet is an interesting town and this Inn is right on the lake which did provide for some relaxation. If you take the time to look around Inlet it actually has things to do.

"Adirondack Flavor- friendly but aged "

6.0

The Woods Inn has good bones and Lake location and easy to be in the center of town quickly. The Inn itself is in need of general upkeep and getting rid of old furniture in the living room area. The mattress was tolerable, not great. We did not have an A/c unit in our room- we managed with the 2 fans and opening all the windows at night but be sure of what you are getting. They provide a 2 person coffee maker, no hair dryer, frig or microwave. One roll of toilet paper, no extras. The front desk was helpful in providing paper and ice when asked. The views and lawn are very nice. The tavern had good food the one time we ate at the hotel. The town park next to the property is excellent. Nice weed-free swimming area and new restrooms.

The staff was very friendly! The condition of the property poor. No food available in the morning except coffee. Old broken down and very worn. Room had USED toileties, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and no soap or tissues and low toilet paper on the roll with no extra in the room. Chair with no reading lamp. Fine dining? Paper table cloth with crayons and cheap utensils. Guests fighting and police called to the room next door around midnight. Not much sleep. Will never return.

"NOT handicapped accessible/Town on whole NOT LGBTQ FRIENDLY"

4.0

NOT Handicapped accessible! Town NOT seemingly LGBTQ friendly. The reception desk is about 1 1/2 flights of stairs up, first set of rooms (100s) are another flight up and so on. My wife has a back/nerve disability and we ended up on what they referred to as third floor (301) that is actually about 4 1/2 flights of stairs up, no elevator! They blamed us for not researching the location enough. We walked away after one night (took that long to find new location and Wife couldn’t tolerate another trip down the stairs on check in day) with a VERY small refund and a lot of rudeness.

The beautiful outdoor space and spectacular sunsets offset the poor condition of the Inn. However it is under new management so hopefully needed renovation will bring this historic place back to its glory days

"Classic Adirondack Experience"

10.0

The hotel is under new management as of June 2024 with the restaurant likely opening by the end of that same month. We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Woods Inn. The management and staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, had a great bed, and an average sized bathroom. The wifi was excellent and we took advantage of the EV charging stations on property for our car. We really enjoyed being right on the lake with amazing views. Also next door you can rent canoes and kayaks. And you are a block away from all the downtown shops and restaurants. Don't miss the donuts at Mary's Bakery (only open Sat & Sun monnings). As in many ADK lodgings there is no AC. We didn't need it as most summer nights cool down. And as others have mentioned the walls and floors are thin and transmit sound. We didn't have a problem sleeping, but signs and printed notices about a 10pm quiet time could help. p.s. there is a large sitting / living room on the main floor with TV and there's an 8' billiards table on the ground floor.
