The Well Inn

Nothing. I will not stay again, and for the price it is terrible - £85 for the night to sleep in a bare minimum of cleanliness.

There was a sign stating main doors close at midnight, however the door was locked when I returned from the supermarket by half 9 and the reception wasn't open by 8am the following day either. The bathroom was not clean, there was dried faeces marks in the toilet, the bin had not been emptied and there was hair and residue under the drain cap. The carpet wasn't clean and the mattress was hard, but due to cleanliness I didn't sleep in the covers because I had my young baby with me as well. The tv remote didn't fully work (you had to change the volume on the top of the tv) either.

however, the mattress on the bed is very close to have used its useful life. the spring on the edges were not supportive making very easy to role out on to the floor

Loved that they actually do a family room for 5 as most places only do 4. Also the price was amazing compared to other places

The kettle in the room did not work. Tried to find someone. Noone was around from 9pm and still noone was around by the time we left ay 9am!

The room was great, the inn was perfect for our trip Friendly and helpful staff. We went to the highway man pub next door for our evening meal, which was good food and good lager too😀

The people staying in room above ours were very noisy when we were trying to get to sleep. Not the pubs fault just inconsiderate guests. They were just as noisy in the morning.

Location was ideal and staff on the phone were friendly and helpful.

The whole place seemed tired and ready for a refurb! It was a double room, but there was only one bedside cabinet on one side and no plugs on the other. The shower room had a small shelf under the mirror that was sloping and my aftershave bottle slid off it, but didn't break. It is obviously a budget accommodation which is fair enough and it did the job, but not sure have a £1000 picture for sale above the bed is really aiming at the right target market?

The young man working on the bar on Saturday afternoon when we checked in was very friendly and helpful. The man who cleaned our room on Sunday was efficient and made a good job of cleaning. It was great to have clean bedding and towels.

The advert about The Well was very misleading as it said breakfast was available but this was not the case. No food of any description was on offer. We were told we could get an evening meal in the pub next door but again breakfast was not available I think this made for a pricey stay for a very small room.

The room itself was perfect for what we needed, double bed, single bed and bunk bed. The location was very close to amenities and a decent sister pub with decent food. Staff were friendly. It was only an overnight stay but was very good price for what it was.

Bunk beds were very creaky and mattresses weren't very comfortable. The location is next to a very busy road so it was very noisy, not really something in their control, but all in all the bad gets cancelled out by the price we paid. It happened to be quite a hot day (also beyond their control) so the noise of either widows open or fan plus the mediocre mattresses made the kids find it hard to sleep. One ended up sleeping on the floor instead of the top bunk. Wouldn't want to stay as family more than one night.
