"ok place to hang your hat for short or long-stay"

6.0

this traveler, who stayed 2 weeks plus, offers the following --a little long, but this is how he saw it. --comfort zone at elk grove inTown a bit elusive, partly because you easily spot things in need of attention. a little repair, polish, cleaning, replacing, sprucing- and brightening-up are definitely in order. like... outside doors are rusting some, and one outer key-card door lock that's loose makes you wonder.... the grounds beg for rigorous daily cleanup (papers n junk under/in bushes, cig butts everywhere). some carpeting (rooms and halls) appears not shampooed in years. staircase halls: drab, dim... and the stairs themselves could stand a good wash-down --if not an occasional sweeping! filthy staircase walls want new paint (did i see a shoeprint on one of them?); and many small wall holes, scratches and nicks could use simple patching. annoying little scraps of debris are forever here and there (and could easily be picked-up. halls are vacuumed regularly?). several room window screens are bent and some have holes (did anyone say flies and bees?). in some cases, no screens. --and it was said that one resident had his room's kitchenette cabinet door fall off... (!) --and should there really be signs on outer doors alerting residents to "be sure to close the door" tightly when leaving? (come on inTown! fix 'em so doors shut completely by themselves!!) there's always just one front desk person on-duty. she/he's routinely handling as much as possible throughout the property. no wonder they seem cranky. pretty much all the time. special alert. noise. near a busy intersection, so any open west-side window invites nerve-wracking sounds of motorcycles, semi's, autos, buses, emergency vehicles, train horns, garbage trucks, souped-up car engines, low o'Hare planes... and banging from the next door Groot dumpster facility. --inside the property: noticeably quiet. outside? --a grand cacophony of daytime annoyance. solution: ignore... or close the room window. incidentals. --raining? thundering, lightening? count on the room tv signal to go down. --wash/dry is $1.75 per, from a plastic card replenished @ 5$ a crack. --the mostly reliable wi-fi costs you 5$ a week, use it or not. not optional. not fair. all in all, the building still stands, the roof doesn't leak, the rooms are clean, kitchenette appliances/room fixtures work well... and u can make calls to anywhere, usa from the room, no added charge. it's got its issues, but be assured this isn't a run-down inTown.... so, if you're Not expecting the las vegas MGM and can over-look (endure?) the effects of distant management and reduced general maintenance, staying here for any length of time will be ok. --notwithstanding the little annoyances, some of which not even tolerated at a motel6... a little less than guest-friendly... but not too pricey for what you get. the elk grove village inTown suites does as advertised, but doesn't go out of its way to make your stay a particularly welcome one....

"Poorly Maintained to the Point of Being Disgusting"

2.0

Pretty much the most disgusting and unmaintained place I have ever stayed. Their idea of high speed internet is less than 3 MBPS, that's dialup speeds for you non technical people. The kitchen cabinet in my room had a horrific smell coming from it and even after three weeks of spraying it with lysol it still remained. The bed springs were either broken or simply worn out. Anytime you moved you would hear the springs rubbing and twanging. At random times a spring would come unstuck and give me a nice little whack coupled with a loud twang. This made for an exceptional sleeping experience, NOT. The pillows are the plastic covered jailhouse type and were torn and cracked making them utterly disgusting. There was brown crap like stains on the walls below the toilet paper roller. And nicotine residue all over the bathroom walls. P.S. it's a non smoking room! The microwave didn't work, it would burn a circle area in anything you put in it and leave the rest icy cold. The carpet in the hotel looks like they took it from a building abandoned 50 years ago. I told the manager about the cabinet and bed and suggested leaving and he thanked me for my stay, WTH, how about address a couple of the issues? Yes there are very very very questionable people staying here.

"Clean Hotel"

10.0

We stay in this hotel for two weeks, it was very clean, personal was very friendly, it was close to stores, freeways, etc. it has a nice size kitchen and bathroom. We use a InTown in Virginia that was horrible, we will definitely stay here again if we ever needed.

"Very Expensive and quality is really poor!"

4.0

Well, it seemed like an okay place, at first, but I will never again come back to this hotel ever again, if I don't have to. I don't understand either why everywhere, that I go too, I am being told that this is a Senior Living place too. I would hope to not bring my loved one or family member her, if they don't have to. Yeah, it has a kitchen, fridge and cable, but the t.v. isn't in the best spot for someone, if they want to be able to sit at the table with someone comfortably. Also, the floor/carpet is so old and feels damp all of the time, from the humidity, caused from having no bathroom ventilation fan in it. Also, we were told, that we would have two beds in our room too. When we arrived her at first, we were instructed, that they had no more rooms like that available. Another thing, is something in here makes my skin and hair itch a lot. Unsure, if it's bugs or what. The price or rate continuously goes up every single week. It is craziness! Expensive and the customer service has gone out the window totally here. There is only one decent and nice person here besides the cleaning people and that is the maintenance man. If I were you, I would run. Go somewhere else, if possible!!!!!!!! Avoid here altogether or sleep in your car. LOL!

"OMG this is the Worst Extended Stay location ever"

2.0

We booked a week here (they only do weekly rates initially) and with taxes it was over $400. Since it was a close location we chose this hotel. However afte my husband checked in and I saw it the next day, I was pretty sad. It has a kitchenette, but not one plate, cup, utensil pot or pan. I borrowed these items from friends and the two towels in bathroom are so thin and threadbare we had to get our own towels from another place. The wifi is almost non existent. Nice for business folks (not) To top it off you are instructed you get only one roll of toilet paper Nd then you are on your own. The smell of smoke is terrible because there are smoking rooms on same floor. Why??? Ugh And the contract said NO refunds. The bed when you lay on it feels like the mattress is about fifty years old and squeaks terribly. Thankfully I was able to move out to help my mom who just had surgery. This is a terrible place. Never again.

"One of the worst hotels in Chicagoland"

2.0

My fiancee and I stayed in this hotel from May 12-17, 2014 and we left with a sever skin rushes. The bed mattresses are full of bed bugs, bed covers smell horribly bad, the staff are very rude, and there is absolutely nothing done to keep residents happy. Rooms are very dirty as well. Smoke comes in non-smoking rooms. Customer service is non-existent. This hotel is probably the worse I've ever stayed in and I would never recommend it to anyone. Stay away from this hotel.

"Save you money for Extended Stay America."

2.0

I made the mistake of staying at InTown Suites near O'Hare. This place is a complete DUMP. There is a terrible smell in the lobby. Though I am in a non-smoking room it reeks of smoke and had an ashtray in the drawer. I had to use Febreeze and Arm and Hammer carpet deodorizer to be able to sleep here. They don't allow refunds so I had to stay here for the week or lose my $300. They only provide one room key and did not tell me that a cell phone in my purse would de-magnetize it. So after going to Starbucks to use their internet (the high speed internet here is a TRUE joke) I found myself locked out at midnight with no working key. Fortunately the after hours personnel let me in. Couldn't get a key the next day because the office hours start at 11 am. No, there is not 24 hour front end desk staff. The maintenance person who opened the door told me that you can smell the weed smoke on the 3rd floor. And may I mention the fact that the people coming in and out of this place look fresh out of your local trailer park. I will be at a different hotel come this weekend. No towel service. Towels are one step above sandpaper. I am afraid to walk on the carpet without shoes. The studios don't have tubs, only showers. The mattress is so hard I had to go to Walmart and buy a Serta mattress topper. I also did a pre-emptive strike and bought bedbug spray just in case (haven't seen anything though). This is the worst hotel I have ever set foot in. SAVE YOURSELF SOME TROUBLE!
