Sky City Apartments

Had some food shops and convenience shops across the street. Close proximity to the University and station via cabs. Bathroom was nice

NO AIR CONDITIONING. Absolutely boiling in the room. Room was on the ground floor and thus couldn’t leave the window open as there was no barrier from pedestrians entering the property. Anyone can just walk on and climb into the room. Noisy neighbourhood at night. The fan did nothing in cooling the room down. Communication from Sky City themselves was poor. Loads of instructions, and unjustifiable service fees and deposit requests. Took ages to answer questions if they did answer. They also take £3 from the deposit they request from you (£100) and they only send £97 back. Also be careful when leaving the room as the door doesn’t always close properly and stays unlocked. Finally upon arrival, the floor was not clean, could feel particles on the floor when walking around

It was compact but it had enough facilities for a 3 night stay, a double bed, small kitchen, small table and 2 chairs, hob, fridge and microwave. It had a very nice bathroom with a great power shower but very little space to move around in when you got out of the shower.

I booked this property at the start of the heatwave and there was no air conditioning, just a small desktop fan to try and cool the room. There is no human interaction, it is all booked online with instructions on how to get access to the property once you have paid the fees including a refundable damage deposit of £100 which I didn’t know about until I had reserved the room. The table and chairs were a bit flimsy and I felt I had to be careful that I didn’t break them when I sat down, but thankfully I didn’t break them.

Stayed here several times before so know what to expect. Location perfect for our needs. Comfy bed, good shower, space to sit & to eat, can prepare breakfast. Good value with kitchenette. Thanks for the fan!

Bottom sheet old & scratchy, EV chargers not working (and arrived late so not much parking near them anyway). Appear to be no longer connected. Might affect our choice to stay here if they remain out of use.
