Smooth check in

Broken shower head, toilet flush not working properly and unclean. When I requested a short extension to my check out time for a work meeting, it was refused despite challenges at the property.

The room itself was clean and nicely presented. Minimal noise from outside. We stayed for an event at Coventry Arena which was further than expected... 3 mile walk. Relatively easy to access with Bluetooth key. It was lovely for the one night we stayed. £196 per night.

Communication with the property was difficult. We had to do a bank transfer of £100 for a damage deposit as the LINK option wasn't working... Not ideal especially when both options were given, good job we had £100 otherwise we wouldn't have been able to stay, with LINK the funds are secured but not taken from your account which is a better and more secure way to do this. When it came to getting the deposit back we had to chase this through booking.com as the property were not responding. We were told we would have the deposit back by 6pm on the day of checkout (as per screenshot attached) goalposts were then moved to 48 hours with a £3 fee applied... Had a feeling we would have to chase the deposit and we're right...

The check-in system was terrible and the customer service was extremely rude. Before arrival, I was asked to pay a security deposit through a message that felt very unsecure and unprofessional. When I arrived at around 9:00 pm, I was immediately pressured to transfer the money or I would not be allowed to check in, despite being told I would still be charged for the room. The person messaging me was impatient, unhelpful, and showed no understanding of the situation. Once I finally got into the room, I found hair all over the bed, which was unacceptable. The bathroom also had a strong unpleasant smell. To make matters worse, I was charged an additional £5 for no apparent reason, even though I followed all check-out instructions and returned everything as requested. I have since tried to contact the property about these issues, but nobody responds to messages. I would not recommend staying here unless you want unnecessary stress and poor customer service.
