Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile

We stayed here for two nights because we wanted to see the animal sanctuary. I am not an animal owner but my family member is a cat person, which is why we stayed here. We did not have any pets with us. I thought the room might smell like cats and dogs, but it did not. The room was exceptionally clean even though it could be used for animals and their owners. There was a pull out bed for the animals and feeding dishes, too. I was impressed with the free washer and dryer, something I usually don't need but on this occasion I did need to do a load of laundry. We had delicious muffins for breakfast. The breakfast is included and since this is connected to an animal sanctuary, do not expect any food made with animals or animal products. Be sure to visit the animal sanctuary while you are here. It is about 5 miles from this roadhouse.

We highly recommend the Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile for your stay in Kanab, UT! Especially if you have a dog! Most hotels are made for humans and allow a dog in the room. We felt this place was actually made with dogs in mind! There is a dog park with splash-pad and plenty of room for pups to play. A well-placed drinking fountain for warm days. A pull-out dog bed and feeding area in the room. And one of my most important things: a very well-lit bathroom with cubby in the wall for additional shower supplies. Breakfast is included and you also receive tickets for a free lunch at the Best Friends Sanctuary, just a few miles down the road. This is by far one of the best places we've ever stayed, with our without our dog! Definitely recommend staying here!!

What a wonderful time! The location is stunning and Best Friends itself is just a magical place! Staying on property is a great option—super convenient. The cottages are very comfortable, clean, and well-stocked—and they are an excellent value deal! Volunteer with animals! Take the tours! Walk the trails! Eat at Angel Cafe! You will not be disappointed!

Such a wonderful property and amazing staff! The dogs loved the awesome dog parks! Our room was the 2 story king room and was so spacious and clean. Very beautiful modern design as well. Would stay here again anytime we are in the area!

Wonderful time at Beat Friends, the staff are friendly and helpful. Volunteering was a pleasure and the tours were very informative. Staying in the cottage was a pleasure and convenient to all area.

Pet friendly with no added fees and so accomodating to travel with our dog and cats. Treats when you arrive and friendly staff. Love visiting Kanab and specifically stop in town just to stay at Best Friends.
