Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile

Great location and very pleasant

I've been going to Best Friends for almost 25 years. If you are an animal person you will find no better place to visit and stay. It is special and magical and profoundly beautiful. The people that work there are kind and the animals are happy and well cared for. I always stay in the Cottages because I like being able to cook and have a more home-like space. They have been upgraded over the years and have gone from dorm fridges and two-burners to a real kitchen with everything you need. The views are amazing, the beds are comfortable, and you can appreciate knowing that your money is going to the best animal sanctuary in the world.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and worked to ensure that all of our needs were met. The room was beautiful, clean and designed to comfortably accommodate humans and their pets. The beauty of the grounds was so special and so different from most places I have stayed. We loved our visit here and hope to be able to return.

Great stay! Nice location in Kanab. Everything will kept, maintained and modern. Loved our room. Also had a sleepover with a cat from the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Sweetest thing.

We were driving through from Az headed to SLC with our 6 month old puppy and cat. Kanab is a great halfway stop so we decided to book a stay. It was the BEST decision! We had a warm kind welcome by Daisy with goodies for the kids and us with a special welcome touch having our pets names on the welcome board. Our accommodations in the King suite exceeded our expectations with the very thoughtful pet safe/friendly room. The room was extremely clean and did not have a pet smell. The bed was comfortable and quiet and loved the soap/bath people products. The grounds were amazing! They have 2 dog park spaces one large one small. They are closed in and very safe for the pets. Our babies loved their stay and felt right at home.

It’s a wonderful property that’s very clean and extremely family and dog friendly. We loved our stay ,will definitely will be back.

This is a fantasy hotel for anyone who loves animals. It surpassed all my expectations. I didn’t have my dog with me but they even have a cuddle option where you can host a homeless pet for the night. The landscaping is beautiful and when we drove up there was a full arch rainbow overhead. The window shades and lighting is automated. There are beds and towels in the rooms for pets. Laundry was free. It’s modern and adorable. The gift store is cute, staff were sweet and lots of guests are volunteering at Best Friends so we met a lot of cool people. This is an unforgettable hotel and close to Zion.

We were really impressed by the cleanliness of the room and the pet facilities. Check-in was a tad chaotic (in part because everyone had pets), but once we were checked in it was a lovely stay. The dog run was fantastic and we heard from another guest that the dog spa was wonderful, though we didn’t use it. The location of the hotel is convenient, with most of the restaurants and shops in walking distance. We would absolutely stay here again!

Super friendly and supportive staff. Their RV park is one of, if not the best I’ve ever stayed in over the past year. It’s like a boutique RV park with excellent services.

Usual stop heading from AZ to UT with three (3) dogs. Dog centric hotel.
