Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile

Stayed at the cottages in the Best Friends Sanctuary a few miles outside Kanab, and would highly recommend it - so peaceful and beautiful. Cottage was very comfortable and well-appointed, and we thought great value. Take the opportunity to volunteer or at least tour the animal sanctuary- inspiring experience. Would also be a great place to base yourself when touring southern Utah parks. Don't miss the $5 vegan lunch buffet at the cafe-great food and the biggest bargain anywhere!

Amazing hotel with all the amenities. Breakfast was great and all the staff is super friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again and again if I only lived closer.

Talk about “pet-friendly”! This was the pet-friendliest place we have ever seen! Snacks, bowls, dog-park and even a dog washing station. The staff are friendly, and there are great restaurants within walking distance. We will return!

Good stay….but your coffee machine in the room,though fancy had no directions on how to use. With that we had no morning cup prior to departure. Your restaurant wasn’t open when we departed.

I loved the animal themes, the bathroom, and the room size.

A magical place with wonderful and caring staff. Every part of this place is special. The staff, the animals, the entire environment. This was our fourth visit and we want to do this every year. My son had such a great time, he cleaned, he learned, he socialized with people and animals and he enjoyed it all. I would say the same goes for me. My friend came with us and was unable to volunteer so she simply relaxed. She is disabled and was able to relax and enjoy. Even the five dollar all you can eat vegan lunch is amazing. My meat eating friend even loved it and she never thought she would. I can’t recommend this place enough. Everyone is kind it’s relaxing, everybody works hard to give you a great experience, and you get to hang out with all the wonderful animals.

This was a wonderful place to stay with your pet. Dog park, splash pad and wash area. Clean and comfortable. Will stay again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this property! The staff is amazing, rooms are extremely well thought out for pets with lots of extra touches. The pull out pet bed, dog paw wash towel, food bowls, treats upon check in, free dog wash and laundry facility and ability to take dogs into all the human areas is a bonus. Location is great and everything is in walking distance. Gift shop for Best Friends Animal Society has an excellent selection too.
