Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile

Peanut and I had an amazing stay at Best Friends Lodging—we’ll definitely be returning! From the moment we arrived, the warm and pet-friendly atmosphere set by the staff was so refreshing. It was clear that Peanut was genuinely welcomed, which made the experience even more special. The entire property was spotless and thoughtfully decorated. Peanut was thrilled to see his name displayed, and the personalized set of bowls made things so convenient for both of us. He had a blast exploring the dog park and strolling around the grounds. Our room and bathroom was spacious, impeccably clean, and perfectly tailored for guests traveling with pets. It was cozy, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet—no slamming doors or noisy elevators. We both slept soundly and woke up feeling completely relaxed.

Amazing experience. Cabins are small but super comfortable with all necessities!! Best part was volunteering and having one of the pups for a sleepover. Will be back again!!

Beautiful location, friendly people, clean rooms, delicious vegan breakfast and"PET FRIENDLY"!! Will be staying again Fall of 2026!

Really enjoyed our three night stay in Kanab. Room was so quiet and clean, darkening shades are a very nice touch. Lovely place to stay with or without a pet but the pet friendliness is a HUGE bonus!

Struttura ottimamente tenuta, molto pulita, dal giardino, alle camere allo spazio colazione. Staff gentile ed accogliente, sempre con un sorriso per ogni domanda. Camera spaziosa, pulita e ricca di ogni comfort. Ottimamente preparata anche per ospitare un amico a quattro zampe. Colazione con una selezione ridotta ma di qualità.

We stayed in the RV site area for a few days during our 6 week travel. The sanctuary was beautiful and so well maintained. We took a driving tour of the whole property and we're blown away by how large it is. We loved our campsite, but the highlight were the showers available. We had just come from dry camping and those showers were the best. We loved this place and I know we will be back. The customer service that we received was also just spot on perfect.

This is by far the best place we have found to stay when traveling with our dog. The off leash park is wonderful with some grass and a splash pad for warm days. So fun for our dog! The mercantile has dog & cat related items to make your pets stay more fun too. Don’t be afraid to try out the vegan breakfast foods offered. They are yummy. The coffee is delicious too. The rooms are well appointed and pleasing. You have an entry room to wipe paws & hang your leash & coats. There is a second door that separates the mud room from the main room for any escape artists. They offer two large dog bowls in the room with a welcome sign for your furry companion. The only thing that was inconvenient was that I needed to wipe out the dog food bowls with a paper towel into the trash since the sink is not equipped for rinsing out the small chunks of dog food remnants. Next time I will reserve the room with the kitchenette. The staff were wonderful and welcoming. I highly recommend driving through the actual animal sanctuary up the road. It is spectacular.

I stayed in one of the cabins on the grounds of the Sanctuary. Outstanding accommodations for one person and perhaps even for two cozy individuals. Everything you could possibly need in the way of supplies is provided in the cabin for your stay. Convenient location on the grounds, pleasant common area with tables and chairs directly in front to sit and enjoy the gorgeous view & surroundings and the lodging staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, as were all employees I came in contact with. I will most definitely be returning!

The room was so well set up, a great use of space. The grounds were inviting, the free laundry was very helpful to us as we had been traveling for a while. The man that helped us in the store the first day and for breakfast the next was so incredibly nice. He was a pleasure to speak with and very welcoming.
