Royal Derby Hotel

The room was nice and spacious. Does get pretty warm so we left the window open and the fan on whenever we left the room. My partner struggled to sleep with all the traffic noise from outside but if you’re a heavy sleeper you’ll be fine

Some of the lights didn’t work, making the hall a bit dark and spooky, there was a hole above the shower room straight into the attic (only one of the two showers in the shower area actually had a shower head), luckily there was another bathroom with a shower to use as there was a cockroach in the one working shower on our last day.

The location is good like close to tram station. The stuffs are good. There are many food facilities. Shared toilets are clean.

Shared bathrooms are not as expected. They are made up of old plastic box and small to get a good shower. They didn't care much about bathrooms and one bathroom water pipe was broken.

The rooms were very cozy and homey

My room was adequate but it was very basic

The hotel was very dirty. The two toilets had shit skid marks on them. The sink and the bath/shower were dirty and leaking water. The bins were full. The place didn't look as if it was cleaned. The kitchen bin was also full. The dishes were dirty. The place could do with refurbishment. The noise from the pub downstairs on Saturday night went on until 1am. I didn't enjoy staying at the Royal Derby Hotel.

What breakfast? Location was fine.
