Please note The Rose and Crown was built in the early 1500s, and is not accessible. The stairs are narrow and steep, and some of the doorways can be as low as 4.9 feet. Some noise from the bar may be heard in the rooms on busy weekend evenings. The pub is not currently open on Sunday and Mondays.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. A deposit may be required at the property.

The host was as accommodating as he could be.

The bad was too small for two adults and our heads were lower than our feet. Also the fines from the kitchen were evident from the rooms.

Very convenient for the station and easy access to the High Street. Lovely old property.

Very low doors in our room. Especially step down into bathroom with low doors. Do book breakfast in advance. We decided to ask last minute and they couldn’t accommodate us, but our fault!

"Great pub. Overpriced for what it was."

Lovely old pub. Lots of character. Staff great. Nice location.

1) No parking. Two carparks next to property are monumentally expensive. Added £25 to total stay. 2) Stayed for two nights. No service to refresh room coffees etc. I don’t mind sheets not being changed, but for the price I don’t want have to ask for room sundries to be replaced. 3) Came back from day out to find the housekeeping linen (possibly dirty linen) bag outside our room door, blocking entrance. Had to ask it to be removed. 4) the bathroom had a terrible smell with brown liquid leaking through the floor. Tried to find manager on day of leaving property to inform. 5) Inclusive breakfast very poor. Limited options. The bacon sandwich was nice, but no bacon for second morning we stayed.
