My grandchildren enjoyed the animals that were roaming around and the place was tranquil.

Surroundings and property were pretty, staff was nice.

Even though my plans changed drastically the place would give me a free cancelation so I had to change my whole trip and only checked in around 8pm after a long drive - the restaurant wasnt open. I did not get the room that I booked and paid for - I paid for a deluxe family room, I got a step down room (no refunding even after downgrading me without my permission). I was NOT informes the lodge waa closing early on Sunday and closed entirely on Monday - until I was checked in. We were literally alone on Sunday evening with no one but the security guard. The room was aub standard, cob webs behind beds, broken doors, broken towel racks, dirty shower etc. We only received water on day one, not day 2. I wont go again and feel like my money was not spent well at all. Zero aircon in the room (contrary to what was advertised) so the room was musty snd hot amd windows couldn't be opened because of mosquitoes and safety abd particularly when I was alone with just my kids in the entire resort.

Peace and tranquility

The grounds are beautiful, wonderful jungle gyms, wonderful restaurant and incredibly friendly lovely staff.

The pool was not kept very clean, the room had a damp issue - perhaps all of Roodeplaat does though and the breakfast starts too late.

5 Stars!! What an amazing stay at Gabbatta Lodge. Our dinner & lunch was exceptional. The staff are so kind & helpful. Our room was comfortable with an amazing view. The ducks that are wandering around are so cute. I wish we had been able to stay at Gabbatta Lodge for longer than a few days
