Shoji Lake Hotel

The staff of the hotel was really helpful and accommodating, they made the stay in the hotel a very special experience. The views of mount Fuji were amazing and in general the area was very relaxing. The thermal springs experience was excellence. For my first time sleeping in a traditional tatami room I slept really well. Also appreciate the nice yukatas provided during our stay. As the hotel is a little far away from Kawaguchiko, we rented a car by the train station. Highly recommended as allows you to better explore the area. There was not that much traffic so I did not have any issue driving in the left side for the first time

Although some parts of the hotel have been renovated you can see that the hotel has aged over time. That said, the rest of positive aspects in this hotel vastly compensated it and I just took it as way to experience the Japan from few decades ago

Vriendelijkste ontvangst die je kunt wensen. Sowieso enorm fijne service. Elke keer als ze onze dochter zagen werd haar snoep aangeboden, wat zij top vond natuurlijk. Sfeervolle kamers, waarbij die van ons een nieuwe badkamer had. Beter uitzicht bestaat bijna niet. Lobby en restaurant modern en waarschijnlijk recent verbouwd.

Op onze kamer stond nog een oude, wat verroeste koelkast. In een andere kamer zag ik al een nieuwe staan. Zoals overal vermeld is het een oud hotel. Het kan dus wat gehorig zijn.

L’hôtel est tout simplement incroyable ! Une vue imprenable sur le lac et le Mont Fuji, un onsen en extérieur tout neuf accompagné d’un bain froid et un sauna. Les chambres sont spacieuses et agréables. Le restaurant très bon et varié. Arrêt de bus à 2 pas ou parking devant l’hôtel. Le personnel est aux petits soins de A à Z, ils feront le maximum pour que votre séjour soit inoubliable. C’est une totale réussite: notre hôtel coup de cœur au Japon. N’hésitez pas un instant !

The owner greeted us in a warm welcome and made sure our stay was pleasant. He was extremely friendly, and all the staff was great. Location eas perfect for us, quiet and beautiful with amazing mount Fuji. Nice public onsen. Good value for money. The hotel has a charm as ot was built in the 50s.

Since the hotel is old and the rooms haven't been renovated in a while, some rugs in the room smelled and it made the room stuffy and smelly. Apart from that everything was great.
