I liked the history of the building but not the rooms. They were budget rooms but could have been cleaner

Pretty much everything. The shower was boiling & couldn't be adjusted. There was a stench & room was dirty

Dog friendly and useful location. Staff at check in were friendly. Bed was comfy. Everything was clean. Lots of dinner options nearby.

Looks a bit tired. Room lacked teaspoons and hairdryer. No instructions for breakfast which seems to be a help yourself to tea and toast arrangement. No view from window. Looks out at next door window. Nowhere near to take dogs for comfort break. No chair in room.

Me and my partner were due to stay here on the 11th April 2025 as I was visiting a sick relative in a care home and thew drive from our home town was 3 hours each way. We booked a few weeks in advance, the evening before arrival I as told that this hotel has a nightclub downstairs. I phoned the hotel and queried this with him, he confirmed with me that yes there is a disco that finishes around 1.30 - 2am - this was never advertised when making the booking and a nightclub below our room is not something we wanted, we wanted a good nights sleep after an upsetting time visiting a sick relative. The guy i spoke to (told me his name was john, however i think he lied) told me I would get a full refund and apologised. Which was good of him, all i needed to do was contact booking.com and then he would authorise it his end. Well this was nearly 3 weeks ago, myself nor booking.com have not been able to contact this 'John' I have had shocking service from booking.com and as well now the hotel owner or whoever it was i spoke to! Ive heard so many bad things about booking.com and the fact of the matter is they just don't care about their customers. They should be refunding me the £72 and claiming it back from the hotel. Absolutely shocking service, never again will i use booking.com! I am really disappointed in the service i have received.

I had been warned about some music from the DJ nights that are on Friday and Saturday but wasn’t prepared for the level of noise. Basically the hotel turned into a club , people screaming outside the windows and lights illuminating the bedroom from 8pm till 1.30am so had to use ear plugs and an eye mask to try and sleep . The staff were really nice and friendly however

The staff were friendly and location was picturesque. Room was relatively clean as well.

For the love of God, please turn the music down. Getting sleep here between the hours of 8pm and midnight is impossible as I could hear it with the windows down through headphones. The bathroom was also not the cleanest and could have used a scrub.
