Location

The location was ideal. It was a very quaint little cottage.

It was a bit dark in the bedroom. As someone who likes to read in bed I found this a bit of a problem.

An historic building, very close to the Minster and many great pubs and restaurants. Well stocked with everything you could need if cooking at home. Excellent instructions/communications from host.

Better shades/drapes to block out light when sleeping.

Great location for exploring York The cottage was clean and well equipped and the bed was really comfortable We didn’t cook here as we’d booked meals out but the kitchen had everything you’d need. Although right inside the city walls we were not disturbed by noise.

For me I would have liked a hand held shower option as well as the fixed head. A toilet roll holder would also have been nice rather than the awkward twisting to reach behind for it. Also there isn’t a mirror in decent light for applying make up. The first night we were disturbed by a humming noise from the house next door. Which may have been their extractor fan or boiler. I regretted not having ear plugs as I need quiet to sleep

Love the location- really close to the centre. Very cosy home.

Cottage on a busy street but tucked up in a quiet off road under walls not noisy at all easy walk into town always something new to see

Everything was really good.

Stayed here a few times before.It’s a lovely little cottage in an ideal location close to all the pubs,restaurants and shops.The minister and treasurers house was in walking distance. It’s in a quiet locations set away from the main hustle and bustle.

We couldn’t get any channels on the tv other than bbc 1.we’ve stayed here a few times but this time a lot of things were missing cooking utensils,had no kitchen roll,left us one and half toilet rolls for 5nights.The property wasn’t very clean and I had to clean the oven out before I came to using it.same as cups and plates when I finally found them.There was no normal glasses there only wine glasses.The cooking utensils were non existent if you wanted to put the frying pan on. It seems like someone’s been stealing the things that should be there or they have been taken out and it’s a shame. The front mat was dirty inside the cottage same as the kitchen floor. I’m not dissing this place as we have enjoyed ourselves and we do every time we go but this time is like there has been no care in checking and the cottage seems to be going down hill.Had dirty windows and spiders everywhere outside in the yard area.If it wasn’t for me taking my laptop we wouldn’t have had tv for 5 nights and thought that what I payed for what we got was well over priced.The other thing was the ladies gate joined on to the cottage it was buzzing all night every night kept me awake and Tuesday morning carpenters turned up at number 5 at quarter to 6 in the morning banging for 2 hrs solid which woke us up.
