American Inn Ozark

Very rude at check-in. Owner did nothing but complain that I had reserved through Expedia and was upset that I had made a room change (from smoking to nonsmoking). Needed assistance getting a door opened to our room wing and again the owner did nothing but complain, refused to answer questions and just walked away. Room was OK, but not worth the headache of dealing with the disrespectful and rude behavior. Went to get my deposit in the morning and a totally different staff member was just about as rude as the owner and made me wait while he tried to find the deposit.

Staff was very rude. I believe it was the owner I delta with, he was very angry that I booked online and tried to charge me more for the room I had already reserved because I booked online. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were traveling and not intending to stay overnight, however, our alternator went out on Hwy 65 north. We were fortunate to make it off the highway at an exit with lodging. At 11 pm at night and 38 degrees we walked in the rain with 4 kids to the closest hotel. Fortunately it was this place. I know that God had his hand in this whole situation. Stranded with no tools and no transportation. We walked into the lobby and was greeted by a wonderful man who turned out to be the owner. After explaining the situation he got us set up with a room and assured me not to worry that we would take care of it in the morning. The next morning I got up still unsure how I was going to get to where I needed to go for tools and a parts store. Paul greeted me in the lobby with tools. Amazing! We spent about 30 minutes taking off the old alternator. In the meantime he had called the local auto parts store to verify they had a replacement. He warmed up his personal car and we jumped in and he took me to get the new one. We talked the whole way about family and such. We got the part, put it on and he charged the battery. Before leaving he talked and joked with the kids in the lobby. I offered him money for his kindness but he refused. We were on our way by 10 am. I am so grateful to him for his help. What happened and our experience at the American Inn in Ozark is very rare. God bless you and your family!!!

Person checking us in was accusative of me and my girlfriend, asked us why we reserved online, seemed pretty upset that we used the internet to reserve and then ranted about why he shouldn't let us have the room, but he was going to anyway. Super unprofessional

I think it's the hotel staffs kids out in the hall till very late, kept us up. My bed felt like a board. And I wouldn't take a shower, it was nasty. Hair and dirty floor in bathroom

no coffee until 7 am? & no coffee pot in room, just a little late?? Shower head could not be adjusted, water in shower luke warm. I know not planning on spending much time in bathroom but so small could hardly turn around. Cushions on devan wore out should be thrown away. Good thing was room was clean.

Vending machines did not work, they didn't even put cups in the room so you could drink water from tap. Towels were very hard. There was even a hole in the bathroom door. Location was good however. Close to where our event was. Ok for sleeping only. Good thing we only stayed one night .

Booked a non smoking room with a queen bed. They first gave us a smoking room with 2 full beds and proceeded to tell us that's all they had and that that was a non smoking room even though it smelled like smoke and there was an ash tray in the room. It took me saying I'll eat the $60 I paid and go somewhere else for they guy to switch us rooms. The second room wasn't terrible it actually was a non smoking room. The bed wasn't bad but bring your own pillow as those weren't very good. I'm used to staying at cheap hotels for going to the lake or 4wheeling but this one was the same price as what we've stayed at other places for and was the worst. The stay would've been better if the staff would've made things right the first time we said something about the room not being right. Won't stay the there again

I stayed here for a while and it was an excellent place. The rooms where clean and the beds were nice. But on top of everything the service was really good. I would recommend this place for anyone to stay at.
