The lobby “lounge” area is more traditional straw may style with low/cushion seating making the whole experience seem more authentic. The guest rooms were quaint and excellently climate controlled given the hallways on the upper floors were open air. The location was perfect for either metro line and a short trip to Kyoto station.

"Traditional feel with all the mod cons"

The hotel facade and front entrance is traditional local architecture but the rooms are all nicely renovated and clean. The king rooms are a decent size with a comfy bed and small lounge area. No separate bathroom though, and shower stall has a nice rain shower. Location wise the hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the metro station and 10-15 minute walk to Nishiki market. It's a bit further removed from other sites but the main road to Kyoto station and buses are right on the corner block. Convenience stores and cafes within close walking distance also.
