No.31 Castle Gate

Great location. Very close to Newark Castle Station and bus routes. Suites were very clean and spacious.

I don’t like milk, and there was no ordinary coffee provided, just sachets for latte coffee. The rooms were very hot, and only one of the provided fans worked. The key pad entry system for the Gilstrap Suite was VERY temperamental.

This is NOT a hotel. It is more like student digs. There is no reception, no bar, no breakfast, no staff at all (that we saw). You get a key code to enter and a key code to the room. The room was dirty, smelly and dark. We did not stay.

Perfect location, big room, great shower, fast wifi, had everything!

Fridge could be a little bigger, but not a big deal.

v nice and clean and well finished and excellent location - v good value for money 😀- could even see the castle and river from the bedroom

could do with a table or desk but other than that was perfect

Lovely room, spacious, clean and perfect located.

The bed needed a lovely thick mattress topper as the mattress was a little lumpy.

Loved the ornate bath and the set up of the suite on the 2nd floor... even with a main road outside there was very little noise...the accommodation was central to everything that we were there for...we had also booked a ground floor room with a cute courtyard ...the ground floor accommodation had the better self catering options with hob and oven ... but was great

There wasn't anything we didn't like.. we did had a disabled person with us and there was difficulty getting in and out of the property due to a large step and unable to use the bath...however this didn't affect us too much for our stay and we had a lovely time Also ground floor accommodation.modation had a damaged door and a smashed plate hidden under a bowl when we arrived ...pictures were taken if required
