"Was at a function next door at Firle Place so couldn't get into room until we arrived at midnight!"

5.0

Lots of choice, full English was nice but sausages a little different!

Room was very small but it was probably what was expected, very expensive for one night however

"The location is stunning with beautiful walks on the doorstep."

It’s a beautiful old pub with a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious.

The bedroom was very warm and the air conditioning unit was extremely noisy. Luckily we had brought a small fan with us.

"Rather disappointing and not value for money in our opinion."

6.0

The location was convenient for our daughter’s wedding and in a pretty village. We were in a room called The Birdcage at the very top of the old building, which was potentially a lovely room but were dismayed to find not only several flights of stairs but no handrail or even a rope rail for the last flight which made it very difficult for anyone like me with painful knees and dangerous as well. The bathroom was another problem in that there was a raised bath with a shower attached that was too high for easy access and no anti slip mat inside it. There was plenty of hot water but fierce water pressure made the floor very wet unfortunately.

Health and safety issues in the bathroom regarding the raised bath with no anti-slip mat and also no handrail for the flight of winding stairs to our room. Dangerous and difficult for anyone, let alone someone with even mild mobility issues. My husband and I had to almost go on hands and knees to get into the room. I saw no warning about access issues for this room on booking it, otherwise I would definitely not have chosen it. The shower attachment in the bath sprayed water over the floor despite our best efforts to prevent this. We enjoyed our cooked breakfast but on Sunday morning we waited 45 minutes before it arrived. On checkout we were told that only two staff members were working, but by then we needed to begin a long return journey to Cornwall and were a bit fed up with the waiting time and for the amount of money we had spent on a two night stay, we were disappointed and didn’t think we had experienced value for money. Apart from the lovely guy in a tweed jacket who was very welcoming, the staff showed little interest in us although it was supposed to be a special trip for our daughter’s wedding and we had mentioned that on arrival.

"A luxurious and restful place to stay set in a stunning rural landscape."

8.0

The Ram Inn is set in the perfect rural village location. The staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. The en suite room was beautifully presented and provided the perfect relaxing peaceful night’s sleep.

The quality of breakfast and the coffee could be improved.

It was so bad we didn’t stay. The manager refused to give us even a partial refund. The accommodation was unbelievably bad. We after talking for over an hour left to try to find somewhere we could stay.

The bedroom was so tiny with beams so low that you had to crawl under them to get into a bed. There was no shower . As an 80 year old man 3 tiny stair cases to climb where our suitcases wouldn’t have fitted. I’m angry with the hotel and would have even have accepted a partial refund. It was I believe a total misrepresentation of the accommodation,
