Newbridge on Usk

My daughter and I spent a fabulous bank holiday weekend here. Super cosy and tastefully decorated room with lots of little extra touches. Robes and slippers, etc. We loved the warm welcome received from the hotel manager and the rest of the hotel staff. Our evening waiters were always so friendly and helpful as were the two ladies who served breakfast. We stayed on a half board basis and had superb food. They obviously have a very knowledgeable chef. We used the complimentary spa facilities at Celtic Manor. Add in the lovely quiet location with lots of local walks to explore made a perfect weekend. La strada d'accesso alla struttura è molto stretta come peraltro tutte le strade secondarie (ma anche primarie) di quella zona e del Galles in generale..fare attenzione soprattutto alle macchine agricole ..

Erg veel emails over dat je vooraf je diner moest reserveren. Er bleek meer dan genoeg ruimte te zijn. Onaangenaam verrast dat er ruim 7 GBP in rekening werd gebracht voor ‘gratuites’ die we niet gebruikt hebben. Zeepjes horen complimentary te zijn, wat het woord ook zegt.

Everything was was good nice and relaxing.

Would have liked a cooked breakfast, but I knew I wasn't getting one when I booked so it's not a complaint.

We had a lovely stay at a really nice hotel, in a lovely quite location. Really nice room. The evening meal was excellent and we had a really good continental breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay again.

Loved our overnight stay this week. Alison who had taken our booking and checked us in remembered us and was very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely. Excellent hair dryer! Evening meal was delicious! Loved the continental breakfast. Preferable to cooked. Very pleasant girl attending to us. Nothing negative to say! Would definitely go again.

Lovely place, the room was great. Dinner was OK. Shame about the plastic mop and bucket left in full view in the dining room.

Booking. Com said good breakfast only after booking was told on confirmation that it was continental only and if you wanted hot breakfast you would drive some miles to sister hotel and there would be supplement.

After booking with Booking .com and receiving confirmation from Newbridge we discovered they only did continental breakfast, unfortunately we were locked in and could not cancel. Booking .com informed you it was a good breakfast, we disagree the fruit salad wasn't fresh and consisted of 80% water melon and judging by the amount left didnt go down well with others. They also ran out of muesli and you had to attract the solo waitress attention, who was often busy doing other tasks, to obtain jug for milk to put in tea. The bedroom was the Happy Heron and was elaborately furnished with walking stick, umbrella, eco bamboo comb, multiple cushions and bath robes however there was no rack or stand to put a case also no room manual standard in most mediocre B&Bs to tell you general local information check out times or how to operate electrical equipment ie espresso machine, TV which had variety of source inputs and Dyson fan which we found essential as there were no opening windows and it was warm night .In all it seemed more attention had been paid to do fancy furnishings than comfort and assistance for clients When toilet was flushed a very loud siren sounding vibration was emitted from pipework which went on for a couple of minutes so not to be used in night or you would wake adjacent residents also shower leaked out onto bathroom floor in multiple places. We were informed that hot breakfast could be obtain by driving some miles down road to sister resort but there was supplementary charge . On the plus side bed was comfortable and views out of breakfast room were pleasant. No we wouldn't stay here again and would not recommend to others we now await our £50 deposit paid on check in to be returned.
