Orchard Point

Brilliant location for visiting Southampton City centre.

Free parking is mentioned but appears non existent. Ended up paying to park on the street. But this is not overly expensive.

Nicely laid out and very smart and modern. Also an excellent location

No parking and the cleaner didn’t really clean the place properly as there were hairs left in the sink and shower from previous occupants.

(a) Being a ground floor flat and located at a central location, there was a lot of noise especially at night. In particular, on Friday to Saturday night we woke up at 2am as there was a fight between 10-15 individuals right outside our window. The fight lasted more than 10 minutes. (b) the host was very inflexible. For example, we requested additional hand towels and he replied strictly that they provide only 2 hand towels for 5 persons for 6 days! (C) as the host has commented, we requested for a late checkout at 1 (not at 3 as the host has mistakenly noted) but the host's reply was that 'they cannot offer late ckeckouts' (D) only quilts were available which for this time of year are very hot. No alternatives were available!

The location, kitchen facilities and washing machine were great.

The sofa bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable.

Really well located. Absolutely everything in walking distance. Modern amenities and well kitted out, provided a great base for us while visiting Southampton for a wedding. Useful to have the extra adds like coffee, soap, shampoo etc available. Gaining access and leaving was super straightforward.

Bit noisy, but to be expected given its central location. I’ve seen a few people note this, so I’m sure it’s a given when booking. You’re also by the communal door so you’ll hear everyone coming and going. The regularly cleaned/ changed items - like kitchen surfaces, bathroom, linens etc were all great. Items that need a less regular but occasional clean are in need of that occasional clean - fan and shutters covered in dust, kettle and coffee machine need a descale etc. but all very reasonable otherwise. At time of booking, the listing noted a free carpark allocated to the apartment but follow up information received day before noted this was not the case. Perhaps this is made clear… I missed it. Paid parking is available.

Apartment is nicely decorated and located well. Has two bathrooms and is spacious. Collection of keys etc was very easy.

It's near a number of pubs and bars and is very noisy at closing time. It's also on the ground floor so privacy from outside can be a little lacking. Curtains are needed in the bedrooms as the blinds are not enough to keep sunlight out. Car parking space is a little small and right on the pavement.

Only minor issues but, only one bin in kitchen no other bins in apartment.. TV a little high on wall for comfortable viewing. Tv internet kept dropping out. Shower and handbasin slow to drain.. These small issues did not spoil our enjoyment of the apartment
