The Ritz-Carlton, Harbin

My family celebrated my Birthday in this Amazing Ritz Carlton Hotel in the Ice City of Harbin. Despite the cold winter, we felt the warmth and genuine service provided by all staff at this hotel. We personally met Ksenia (General Manager) who runs this hotel so well with good staff morale to provide a super comfortable environment for hotel guests to indulge in luxury and services worthy of Ritz-Carlton reputation. Special Thanks to Ksenia and all her meticulous and wonderful arrangements! My birthday was filled with joy, laughter and many surprises from the friendly staff who offered their genuine heart-felt services. A truly memorable celebration which RC made a difference to my experience. RC Harbin is the Best in this City and located very conveniently near Sun Island, Zhong Yang Pedestrian Street and St Sophia Cathedral. Highly recommend using their hotel limo transport for airport transfers and sightseeing. Reasonable price and driver always waiting for you at all destinations. RC Harbin is the pinnacle of luxury. Like a Jewel on top of Harbin, all rooms have commanding views of the entire city being situated on the tallest building in town. We had a Suite which was new with luxurious furnishings, and very spacious. We liked their signature Chinese restaurant Kin Wong Heen as we dined there twice. Special thanks to our waitress CC who spoke great English and provided very professional good quality service and recommendations. We also met Alvin who is a diligent and friendly F+B manager. We also dined at Shangri-la Songbei which was good but not the same level of quality and service compared to King Wong Heen. RC Concierge service was also top notch. Sophia Cheng gave us many valuable advice to plan our tour many months before our arrival. Very prompt and reliable concierge service. The Gym has plenty of new advanced equipment. Good view of Sun Island while working out. They also have a famous SPA service but we did not have time to try it out. Harbin has lots of unique tourist attractions, but Nobody can guess such a Jewel (RC Harbin) is hidden in this Far away city. I highly recommend RC with no hesitation.

We just returned from an outstanding 5-night stay (Jan 12-16, 2025) at the Ritz Carlton Harbin. This hotel sets the gold standard for luxury and service in Harbin. Highlights: 1. Exceptional staff: Friendly, accommodating, and helpful throughout our stay. 2. Personal touch: Rohit Chand, the guest relations manager, provided attentive service from pre-arrival to checkout. 3. Modern and immaculate facilities. 4. Diverse dining options: Main restaurant offered an excellent variety of Western and Chinese cuisine. 5. Convenient location for Ice and Snow Festival and winter activities. 6. Reliable hotel transport, though drivers primarily speak Mandarin. The attention to detail and personalized service made this one of our best hotel experiences. Perfect for both Western and Chinese guests. Highly recommend for a luxurious winter getaway in Harbin. Tip for non-Mandarin speakers: Consider arranging translation services for smoother communication with drivers.

The Ritz Carlton Harbin is a world class hotel with incredible views. The hotel occupies the upper floors of a high rise overlooking the river and the city. Both of the two restaurants had excellent food and service. We looked forward to the breakfast buffet each morning. The concierge staff were essential to helping us get around the city. Most did not speak English, but Rohit was knowledgeable and helpful in everything from reservations to ATMs to Alipay.

It helps that the hotel is new but there are many new hotels in China. What made the stay here remarkable were the wonderful staff. The room attendant (I was in 4617, sorry I don't know her name. Ms. Son perhaps?) changed my pillow without asking as she could see I was struggling with the fluffy ones. Extra-extra water appeared also unasked, very appreciated in such a dry climate. Andy on the Ground Floor reception desk found hats we could borrow for the duration of our stay for my wife and I as he noticed we were poorly prepared for the weather, the next day gave us an enthusiastic guide to where to shop and eat around Saint Sophia's Cathedral. Rohit, again on the Ground Floor took time to share his unique perspectives on the city as an outsider. At breakfast another staff member (the name escapes me, a gentleman from from Hefei) also took time to not just mechanically ask if 'everything was alright' but then engage us in his perspective of the city with recommendations for things to do when the weather was kinder. Jarvis, again at breakfast, noticed coffee and tea when half empty and actually appeared to enjoy filling us up. And so it went on. We were here for four nights and I've only been able to remember a few names and interactions but front desk staff were informed and helpful, our taxi to the airport was arranged in minutes and overall the staff gave off a professional and engaged vibe you don't get in many of the other better hotels in China where you feel staff are drilled hard but not having much fun. What makes all this even more remarkable is that the hotel seemed super busy and I could see we were not being singled out for special treatment. Congratulations to all for delivering what so many hotels promise but so few deliver, a home away from home feel in a glorious property. Naturally, we'll be back!

The service has been impeccable. From the reception to our spa treatments and dining experience to the bellhop & room cleaning service - everything has been top-notch! It has been one of the best hotel stays we've ever had in all our many years of travelling abroad. Kudos to the team and the management The view from my room was superb as I could see the entire panoramic view of the Songhua river and the extent of Harbin city including the Ice & Snow World - simply magical & awesome 👍

Not so accessible to the downtown tourist attractions like central street but if you enjoy a nice walk by the river like me then it's not a big matter...the hotel is very helpful in getting transport for you too

Our recent 5 nights stay at the Ritz-Carlton Harbin was made memorable by the exceptional service and thoughtful gestures from the team. Rohit deserves special recognition for his outstanding hospitality. He not only ensured we were assigned the room we requested, arranged a beautiful birthday cake for my partner, and surprised us with thoughtful gifts, but he also went above and beyond when we encountered a challenge purchasing medication. Upon learning that I was unwell and unable to make a purchase due to not having a China number, Rohit immediately offered his personal number to assist us, showcasing true care and dedication. The housekeeping lady also deserves praise for her meticulous work in keeping our room spotless and her cheerful greetings in the corridor, which added a warm touch to our stay. However, there was a disappointing moment with the front desk staff when we initially requested assistance with purchasing medication. Instead of offering to help or finding a solution, we were advised to walk a kilometer to the nearest pharmacy. This lack of flexibility and support from the front desk was unexpected and inconsistent with the otherwise impeccable service provided by other staff. Despite this issue, our stay was exceptional. We look forward to seeing continued improvements to ensure a consistently outstanding guest experience.

Excellent breakfast and dinner (Thursday to Monday dinner main dining area), both are buffet style. Excellent service, always attentive to guests needs. We had to depart the hotel at 5.00am for an airport connection, and were given a takeaway breakfast, both hot and cold option in the package...excellent.

This was our first trip to Harbin and made even more special with our stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Harbin. We knew it was going to be memorable as we heard great things about the hotel but really, it was the staff who made the entire experience magical. We loved the warm welcome from the effervescent GM Ksenia Novikova and her wonderful team (Rohit, Echo, Alvin deserve special shout-outs.) Appreciated the kind offers for the room upgrade (that view of the river and the Ice/Snow Festival is spectacular!) and the Club Lounge experience is among the best out of all the other Ritz-Carlton Club Lounges in the world. Would highly recommend and return again.

The Ritz Carlton Harbin lived up to all our expectations!!! Not an easy feat! Excellent rooms… excellent staff….stunning views….. great breakfast! Peter , F and B manager , and chef Dean deserve special mention for making our last breakfast there a memorable one! This has got to be the best place to stay in Harbin!!!
