We spent 9 nights at the Residence Inn in Sterling Heights while our son bowled Junior Gold 2024. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite which was clean with newer furniture and the option of streaming on 3 different TVs was perfect for us. Lots of space to spread out and plenty of room to store my son’s bowling in the room without tripping over it and each other. The area is a quiet one nestled behind a Lowe’s. They have a lovely outdoor area, pool and guest laundry and it’s a newer hotel. Now for the negatives. The internet intermittently works making managing a business 400 miles away almost impossible. Check in was unpleasant and I’m not entirely sure why. We arrived at 5pm so not early and not late. The front desk person wasn’t friendly and provided minimal info about the property (ex breakfast). The breakfast setup looks nothing like the hotel’s pics on TripAdvisor. Minimal warm food and most of it was soggy. They have fantastic waffles but they only bring out the waffle maker on Saturdays and Sundays. We were told there would be no housekeeping during our 9 night stay and yet they stocked us no extra toilet paper, 4 bath towels and 4 wash rags for 3 people. We had to continually chase down the housekeepers to swap towels which was not their fault because we called the front desk for towels and didn’t receive what we requested. If this location fixes their service issues they would easily be a 5-er on TripAdvisor.

The room was inviting and comfortable. Amenities were good.

This was my 2nd stay at this location. Room was in a high traffic area, so not as quiet. You need to have cash if you plan to use laundry (even to get quarters), so that was a slight inconvenience. Still looked to book again, but room prices shot up significantly in a day since I left.
