"6 Days at Etereo"

10.0

Just returned from 6 exceptional days at Etereo, which is our third time visiting the property. We've loved each of our stays, and despite the decision to go during the "wet season" the weather held out for us again this year. The property continues to deliver, from the great rooms to the excellent food as well as the wonderful people that we've met there, both staff and other guests. Some specific shout outs would be our Guias, Adelaie and Jerry, Adrienne, the beverage manager, Daniel, Joel and Gilberto, our favorite bartenders at Itzam and Che Che's, our pool waiter Daniel, and the Mayan spiritual advisor Jenner. My failure to mention or recall everyone else should not be read to mean that anyone else that we interacted with was less wonderful, our experience being that pretty much everyone that we came in contact with was to a fault generous with their time and assistance. We always leave feeling as if we have developed new friendships, more than having been well served by a professional hotel staff, which is likely what makes them such sought after professionals. We took advantage of the spiritual jewelry workshop, the Introduction to Mexican wine and the Tacology and Fuego and Vino specialty dinner menus. The food was, as always, wonderful and we would heartily recommend taking advantage of their excellent breakfast menu, and of course all the various salsas that were made available. We also ate off site at Toro, the restaurant at the adjacent St Regis, one evening, which was good as well but a little loud as there was a large group eating there that night. Our other adventure was the guided tour booked through the concierge of Coba and several of the Cenotes, which was a nice way to spend one day off site, although be warned the mosquitos were pretty bad, which we were told was true this year across the peninsula. Beyond that, we spent our days visiting the well-appointed fitness center, languishing at the pool and beach, exploring the property and getting to know the staff. Etereo is not a Cancun party palace and despite our personal efforts to keep the bar open, once dinner service was finished, the hotel was quiet and so anyone that is looking for more activity than that might want to look elsewhere. However, if the above sounds like the perfect fall vacation, we would definitely recommend a stay at Etereo!

"The most amazing vacation!"

10.0

Our experience at Etereo was truly amazing. From the gorgeous property, to the knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly staff, we were fully able to enjoy our vacation and relax and unwind. We were here for our honeymoon and they treated us so well and with such a special touch. Everything about this property was amazing. The gym, the spa, the restaurants, and the pool were all top-tier. We still haven’t stopped talking about how amazing the food was the whole time! and the service was truly impeccable. You can tell they really want to Make their guests feel special and taken care of And they very much succeed in doing so. I do not have one negative thing to say about this resort. I highly recommend going here for a relaxing trip with your spouse, family, or friends.

"High Marks for Etereo"

10.0

Boutique hotel with only 70 or so rooms, which in my opinion is best suited for couples/adults. There were a few families there and I felt like they hadn’t gotten the memo: there’s really not much for kids. I understand, the property does allow children but I didn’t love that a couple dinners were impacted by fussy children. Additionally the adult pool is right next to the general pool if you are sensitive to that. SETTING is a natural environment where buildings are built over lush natural mangroves. A multitude of busy birds, lizards, and the occasional coati. It’s gorgeous and tranquil, although mosquitoes were a nuisance in the evenings outside. Water at the beach is very calm, conducive to swimming. Seaweed was abundant but may be seasonal. Beach was a bit buggy, although again, I am not sure if it had to do with time of year. SERVICE was outstanding. From the personal touches of waitstaff to exemplary housekeeping, from an efficient phone messaging system to doing everything to ensure a tranquil experience. One thing I will add and I am being honest, I think Etereo— along with many other ultra lux properties—need to set aside the butler concept (Gaia). Sometimes our Gaia was on the other end of the messaging system and sometimes it was another member of staff. All requests were met flawlessly by anyone who answered. I’ve written about this type of staff previously: they are unnecessary when the systems are efficient and the service is top notch. In my opinion they are just a way to make guests feel guilty if they don’t cough up with more tips. FOOD was much better than I expected, not being a huge fan of hotel fare. In fact, we ended up eating all our dinners at the property although it wasn’t our original intention. Che Che was just OK, although their guacamole with a margarita for an afternoon snack was absolutely divine and was repeated every afternoon! We enjoyed Itzam’s à la carte menu 2 evenings, but we didn’t love the Abuelas dinner. Although the food was good, an inordinate amount is served. We are rather light eaters, but truly it was enough for four and in some ways turned us off. Would not repeat that, but again the à la carte evenings were very enjoyable, well presented and delicious. Also breakfast at Itzam was a delight, especially the service. SPIRITUAL ELEMENT we found to be a bit kitschy. However the staff was more than obliging when we asked to skip it all. To each his own, of course. All in all a really lovely stay that I’d repeat if traveling to Quintana Roo.

"Great mini moon experience!"

10.0

We booked a trip here for 5 days for our Mini Moon right after our wedding and it was the perfect place for my wife and I to unwind after the chaos of planning a DIY wedding. The grounds are gorgeous, the staff very attentive, and the food was delicious. We didn’t feel the need to leave the resort the whole 5 days!

"Unforgettable Stay at Etero Resort"

10.0

I was extremely satisfied with my overall experience at Etero Resort, where every detail was thoughtfully delivered, creating an incredible and unforgettable stay for our family. I want to highlight a few exceptional individuals who elevated our visit to extraordinary heights. Adrian Perez, the Beverage Director, went above and beyond by batching my favorite cocktail, the Coco Salado, which was no longer on the menu, ensuring I could enjoy it all weekend. He also crafted a personalized welcome cocktail tailored to my palate, setting a delightful tone for our arrival. Sosa, one of the servers, consistently provided warm, impeccable service, making every interaction a joy. Emmanuel, our guide, meticulously planned our days, ensuring every detail and timeline was flawlessly executed. The entire front desk staff was warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating, making our family feel truly welcome. What made the experience even more special were the personalized touches for our children, aged 4 and 6. The resort surprised them with thoughtfully curated gift bags filled with delightful items, including adorable stuffed plush axolotls that they absolutely adored and still cuddle with daily. The cookie-making kits provided endless fun, allowing our kids to get creative in a hands-on activity that kept them engaged and giggling. These thoughtful gestures made our children feel so special and added a magical layer to our stay. Etero Resort’s attention to detail and exceptional staff made this a trip to remember, and we can’t wait to return!

"Truly Magical Place with Magical People."

10.0

We just returned for a last-minute 6-night vacation to Etéreo, and it was incredible. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by our Guia, Itzel, followed by the Shaman, I knew we had picked the right place. If you have the pleasure of Itzel being your Guia, you are in great hands. She ensured all the details were taken care of for us and checked on us multiple times each day. Truly appreciate her. If you're worried about the sargassum, they have a net, which helps prevent the build-up on the beach unlike other properties in the area. Beyond that, the grounds crew does an incredible job keeping the beach and property clean. The food was spectacular. I HIGHLY recommend doing the Tacology dinner and Abuela dinner. We recommend the wine pairing with the Tacology dinner. The Somm did an awesome job matching the food and wine. When they tell you there will be a lot of food at the Abuela dinner, believe them. It was so much. I'm not sure how we're going to eat tacos back in the states because every single taco I had at Etéreo, whether in the Tacology dinner, or simply off the menu was 10:10. All the service staff are great, but I have to specifically mention Sandra. She was our server for Tacology and we loved her so much, we asked for her with the Abuela dinner too. Joy exudes from her. She has infectious energy, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great dining experience. She also introduced us to a new Mexican wine that we now love. Miss you, Sandra! The hotel wellbeing activities with sound baths, meditations, yoga etc, were all wonderful, and the gym was well equipped. We also did the spiritual jewelry session and having a bracelet to wear as a reminder of our stay at Etéreo is truly special. The Spa. Wow. We did the Pure Soul experience, and our therapists were Jael and Mariel. My husband had Jael, and I had Mariel and wow. We both left there saying this was by far the best spa experience of our life, and we have done a lot of spa's including one at Park Hyatt Maldives, which I thought couldn't be beat. I was wrong. This was a last minute, desperately needed vacation, and we could not have picked a better hotel. I cannot wait to book our next trip back and want to say thank you to the entire staff for making our stay magical. Shout-out to Laura, the GM, who is clearly doing a great job and has a team that loves working for her. Laura asked for any recommendations on where to improve or enhance, and the only things I can think of are: 1. CheChe - the dinner menu felt like it was lacking options just a bit. We ended up only going there for dinner one time because we struggled landing on what to eat, and we're not picky people (hubby just has a shellfish allergy and I am intolerant to rice, sad I know). The quality of what we got was good, but the dinner menu just needs a bit more options in my opinion. Lunch was great. 2. You could consider adding a couple of swings at the waters edge or perhaps a couple of hammocks, but this is more for IG/TikToks then anything. LOL. Although swinging with the water is always fun. In summary, if you're looking for a place that feels like it's reinvigorating your mind, body, and soul, look no further. Until next time, Etéreo team! Thank you for the memories!
