SGMYRoom was in poor condition upon arrival. There was a strong musky smell, bedsheets and pillowcases were dirty, and the pillow was old and lumpy. Towels were thin and clearly worn out. These are very basic housekeeping standards that should not be missed at any level, let alone under the Marriott brand. We initially considered asking housekeeping to replace everything and just tolerating the stay. However, during dinner, we realised that the “Visit Malaysia” package was not as advertised on the Marriott app at the point of booking. That became the tipping point. Disappointed, we requested to shorten our stay from 2 nights to 1. Visha from the F&B team was helpful in assisting to convey our concerns to management, which we appreciate. Ironically, the only consistent hospitality we experienced came from the security team — always proactive with luggage, opening doors, and greeting guests. They set a better example of service than the front desk. Given the gap in both room condition and booking accuracy, this stay did not reflect the standards I typically associate with Marriott properties.

The location is far from the beach. We came for golf and the shuttle only starts at 9 with only 3 rounds throughout the day. That too broke down!!
