"Not the best holiday"

6.0

My Sister and I have just returned home from our holiday from this hotel. When we arrived we first of all struggled to find our room as we did not know the layout. When we got to our room we thought it was lovely as we had booked the highest level we expected nothing less. Then we went out to the balcony to discover the sea view we had paid for was a full on view of the power station. We immediately went back to reception to complain. They showed us 3 other rooms all with the same view which we refused. By this time we were exhausted after travel and trailing back and forward we are both in our late 70s. We were then asked to spend the night in that room and they would hope to find us another room the next day, which they did. By the time we arrived it was about 5pm and we had to start unpacking. which. we felt we had lost 2 days of our holiday. Please do not be fooled by the photos of views on brochure of deluxe junior suite with sea views as that is not what you get. The pool is lovely in royal level which we only discovered on our last day as we could not find the way in. The other pool is very busy as it is used by the active level from across the road. We also did not see the entertainment as although the area is quite big with lots of seats it was always full again both the active and royal level used it so you would have to grab a chair about 6.30pm. Location is not great as it is a very long walk into Costa teguise. The rooms are clean and roomy but the public area toilets are awful for such a luxury hotel. All in all we would not return and sorry we went there. I would like to thank Beatrice on reception for her help she is lovely, also the young porter who helped us with our luggage. I think his name started with A he is a credit to his mother and an asset to the hotel. Sister and I have just returned home from our holiday from this hotel. "Nice hotel but doesn’t hit the mark"

6.0

Family of 5 (grandparents, parents and 1 child) traveled 23rd to 30th October- staying in the Royal Level. Location is ok, as you have most of everything you need around the hotel. The hotel is a little isolated, looks to be awaiting development of other hotels all around it. 10 mins on a bus to the beach costing 1.5 euros per person each way or 7 euro taxi. Rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Communal areas in the accommodation blocks needs a lick of paint to keep the standards up. Food was ok. We ate in the Royal Level restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Not a lot of variety in choice when you’re there for a week. Steaks were nice. The restaurants opens at 7pm, at peak time, if you’re not there at 7pm for opening you’ll have to queue and wait for a table. Breakfast is busy at 9am after sunbeds are secured but food is cold by that time as it is out from 7.30am under warmers. La Dolche Vita on the A La Carte option was excellent. All the staff were friendly despite how busy it was at times. Entertainment was average, DJ/ saxophonist by the pool was very good, but could be better and more varied. Sunbeds was a circus! For Royal Level, you had to queue up around 8am for 9am pool opening to get a sunbed. If you arrived after 9am, you could forget it. At the main pool, queuing started from 8.30am and you have to literally run for a bed! At peak holiday times, there are clearly not enough sunbeds in the hotel for everyone and the queuing causes as many problems as it solves. Prepare to be annoyed between 9am-11am when all these sunbeds are unoccupied until the sun comes out. This was the worst experience of our holiday. Overall, Royal Level promises an enhanced experience, but the hotel is oversubscribed and can’t deliver that due to volume of people. Nice enough hotel but we won’t be returning.

"Lovely hotel, very clean. Friendly staff"

8.0

Very clean, friendly staff, disappointed with royal level - queueing for sun-beds as not enough. Good choice repetitive. Lobby bar entertainment mostly average and limited. Not good having it alternate across two sites.

"An amazing stay"

10.0

We had an amazing stay at the Barcelo Lanzarote Royal Level. The hotel is extremely high quality and we were made to feel special by how well we were treated throughout the whole holiday. The pools are heated which made a huge difference when swimming. The food was of exceptionally high quality with the option of freshly cooked steak, chicken or fish every evening. The rooms were large and spacious and the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. The staff at the hotel in particular were extremely friendly and welcoming. The only thing was there was a real lack of choice of vegetarian main meals, often my partner would have to stick to salads rather than having a main. Many dishes could be easily adapted to accommodate but hopefully they will improve.

"Second Time Was Even Better"

8.0

Excellent food and hardworking staff make this hotel well worth a visit. Royal Level is worth every penny. Just watch out for snubbed-saving sharks who are up with the lark to secure their preferential spot at the crack of dawn only to appear hours later. Avoid the Koi restaurant, where the food is dreadful. But Asana buffet was truly excellent. The new Royal Level Lounge adds a nice space to enjoy drinks in the evenings, but please turn down the lighting a little!

"Mixed review"

6.0

Stayed royal level. Room was lovely, although would have benefited with sprucing up. Building and corridors leading to room were very disappointing, run down, walls and paintwork shoddy which were uninspiring. Staff very very good, smiley, helpful and kind. Food was excellent, drink choices too. Royal bar was a bonus, although cool in the evening, not enough comfortable chairs to relax in and lighting far too harsh until the live music started. We found the royal level pool to be too crowded and on several visits there we saw numerous cockroaches scuttling around the bar area. The other royal level pool behind the RL Building was far more to our liking although this would have benefited from the bar that was there being open. Very disappointed with the location as the huge power station and wind turbines dominated the views and when at the pool the turbines could be heard humming constantly. Although we got used to the sound it was not conducive to relaxation. Overall we enjoyed the holiday but would not return for the critical reasons given.
