"A pity for such a nice location"

5.0

The location and the history, breakfast

The facilities are quite outdated and not in a ‘vintage’ way, amenities are very basic, cleanliness could be better. No outlets near bed, only one big towel per person, shower water accumulating in the tray until almost overflowing (for a 15min shower). Had a simple pasta at restaurant downstairs and it was overcooked, lacking salt and overpriced.

"Great scenic location, comfortable accommodations."

9.0

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and bed, spectacular views.

Traffic outside was pretty loud, since we had to keep the windows open to get some fresh air.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Millstone Inn."

8.0

The Millstone Inn is in an excellent location for exploring the Northern Dales of Derbyshire and just by the small town of Hathersage. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was on the first floor with comfortable beds and had good views of the nearby hills. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning. We were impressed with the array of freshly prepared fruit on offer to accompany the cereals and array of pastries. We also enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfasts on offer. We also ate dinner in the hotel on a couple of nights. The richness of the sauce with the lasagne is wonderful. The new owners are making great improvements and we wish them well with their endeavours.

A small improvement to the shower-room would be the addition of a shelf to store wash bags and toiletries.

Great location. Friendly proprietors and staff. Good breakfast.

Closes on Sunday evening, leaving guests to fend for themselves. Rooms not serviced.

"Good for one night but not two"

7.0

Good experience but I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night

We stayed in the little John room. The toilet and sink are too close together. The bathroom needs to be a bit bigger. The hotel was nice but not amazing or anything special.
