"The Millstone Country Inn"

10.0

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and wish it could have been more! It is in an excellent location for exploring a beautiful area. We had wonderful views from our room, which was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant, especially the lasagne, prepared by the Italian owner. Honestly the best I have ever tasted!

"Millstone Inn"

9.0

Comfortable beds, home cooked food, nice beer choice, excellent English breakfast. Loved the music played in the bar and breakfast area. Very friendly and helpful staff and owners.

A little bit of road noise, but it didn't affect our sleeping. Water was extremely hot so be careful with the tap.

Manager went out of his way to arrange food/drinks despite kitchen being closed for the day.

Shower needs hair to be removed from shower-trap as was causing overflowing.

"For the cost charged it was good, but I'd suggest you eat in the evenings elsewhere"

6.0

There is expansive free car parking, the breakfasts are good although the selection of croissants/pastries could be widened. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bar had a good choice of drinks.

The bar hours were shortened in the evenings when the number of guests were low, so when we came back from town the bar was usually shut by 21:30. The evening meals seemed to lack quality, particularly when compared to other local pub restaurants - not bad, just not as good as others.

"Would stay again"

8.0

Solo walker, room only. If walking across the train track, expect a steep hill. Check in was easy, room was ready before 2pm. Friendly staff. Showed me my room and outlined alternative way in. Asked if I wanted breakfast, to which I declined. Told me my room was the biggest but they aren’t super spacious, bed fills most the room. This doesn’t bother me though, as was a reasonable price. Liked the touch of the book about derbyshire in the room! On a main road but I slept well regardless. Stones throw from bus stop, I used this to get into Hathersage after so much walking that day (trying save my legs as it is a 15-20min walk depending on your fitness), for me this was the only downside of the location. Beautiful country all around you though. Buses were hourly into Hathersage.
