Location. Simply amazingly beautiful place. Service was excellent, cordial and professional with nice personal touches such as advice about and directions to local points of interest. Super nice people working here. Food was Italian based but other cuisine styles,including vegetarian options were available.

We understand that the Millstone is in a transitional phase, having undergone management change in October 2025 We’re looking forward to a revisit in the future and anticipate great things from the enthusiastic manager and staff.

"Lovely welcoming amazing Italian food great location for climbing Peak District adventures"

The family/ Dario and Clare were so warm and welcoming and when we realised we would benefit from an additional room helped us as much as possible.

The lack of hanging space in the hallway part of the room for coats, it would be helpful. Also in the bathroom there was only one hanging hook for four people’s towels. There was a lack of cleaning under the beds and so some dust bunnies were in the attached bunk bedroom

Brilliant location, with a wonderful terrace directly overlooking the Peak District. You are right there! Good breakfast, plenty of character, and the owners are friendly - the lady even came to our door to see if we needed anything.
