Aloft by Marriott Anchorage

It was clean, and had a nice pool

Room were small

We chose this hotel, though it was expensive because it had a hot tub and an airport shuttle. these were the only 2 filters I used when entering my info into the hotels.com website. When we checked in we discovered the hot tub was broken. Later when I called from the room to book the shuttle, we were told there was no shuttle service. When I explained it was listed as having a shuttle, the receptionist informed me that they had not undated the website info. We were not entitled to a discount or refund to move to another hotel because we had booked through hotels.com. This was all infuriating nonsense.

This hotel has zero walls for the bathroom. I am so confused as to why. If you want any privacy, dont go here. A wall is something used to enclose an area. Maybe they haven't finished building this place, but crazy weird.

We had stayed at aloft in Durham, so we chose to stay here while in Anchorage. The rooms are clean, and service is always exceptional. You are able to get a fresh cooked breakfast biscuit, although not complimentary. WXYZ lounge offers food options as well as an assortment of beverages/cocktails. I was even able to do laundry while here. The only negative would be the hotel does not run a shuttle to the train depot.

It’s an amazing place. We enjoyed our birthday here so much!

We were charged more than the quote. Checking in was awful.

We had a great stay here, though it was a short one. Too short to review many of the amenities, but we ate food from the grab and go on the first floor each morning and were satisfied with the quality.

I chose the Aloft because I am a Marriott guy. The location isn’t terrible and there are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance but inevitably you’ll need or want to go downtown and that’s the only consideration. The Anchorage bus service is at best okay with buses to and from downtown every 30 minutes and bust stations aren’t too far away. But we used Uber and the taxi service several times because the buses were so far apart. Having said that. It’s a nice, relatively new hotel with comfortable rooms, a pool, a hot tub, a fire pit, pool table and the WXYZ bar. We enjoyed the hotel. The front desk personnel were friendly and professional.
