"Good visit but not great"

6.0

2 nights here at Inness staying in the farmhouse. Itโ€™s been a bit if a mixed bag. The first night someoneโ€™s dog in one the cabins was barking from 7-10 pm. We had the windows open until we couldnโ€™t stand it anymore. Our second night a large group is staying In the farmhouse and are really loud downstairs (literally singing opera). Itโ€™s 10:40 at night. This stinks. You donโ€™t want to have to deal with this for the amount of money you pay for a room. Itโ€™s as though we signed on to stay at a hostel. There is no hotel staff here so either other guests would have to say something or maybe call the main area/front desk? There are no instructions/maps/ that a I know of in the room. Also, the tv didnโ€™t work, so I couldnโ€™t drown out the noise downstairs if I wanted to with TV. Next, the layout of the property is spacious but itโ€™s odd in how itโ€™s seems that itโ€™s form over function in many ways. Not enough lighting in the dirt path from the main area to/from the farmhouse at night. Path into the farmhouse via the pool area/ gate is not lit and itโ€™s through grass. Nice antique farmhouse furniture on the porch BUT not comfortable. Signage is almost non existent- sure, once you bump along your first day you figure out where stuff is (restaurant, front desk) but it doesnโ€™t need to be that hard but yet, it seems purposeful to not have signage. Food and Service at the restaurant has been fantastic, kudos for that. There is nothing outside the property to go to eat so you do tend to eat all your meals here. We golfed and had a great time - the course was fantastic. If we didnโ€™t do that, I donโ€™t know how occupied our time would have been for 2 days. There is tennis and bocce. We did an walk but really it wasnโ€™t much. A spa/ gym would be a welcome addition. Had to get some snacks for lunch from the gift shop which has yogurts, hummus and snack stuff. We purchased yogurts and they told us we can get spoons at the restaurant. While it wasnโ€™t far for us to go, the lack of service in that transaction was off putting. All in all, itโ€™s a nice property but itโ€™s not luxurious as say blackberry farm or twin farms (been to both multiple times) .. but it is also not those prices. So, for a nice getaway, it serves the purpose. I would get a cabin though as the farmhouse is nice but if you have others who are loud and partying, it stinks. Also, the property is very pet friendly, be prepared for dogs all around. there is dog poop on the gravel road since we arrived. itโ€™s a bummer that someone is not being a great pet owner and management hasnโ€™t cleaned it up.

"Unrealized potential and disappointed guests"

2.0

Our stay at Inness was disappointing -- we paid luxury prices for sub-par service and facilities, and I warn anyone else against visiting this resort until it smooths out its rough edges. It's a property with incredible potential that hasn't been realized. Inness is currently constructing a spa. I'm sure it will be lovely when it's finished, but it's a very loud project that makes it very difficult to enjoy what's billed as a bucolic and relaxing atmosphere. When we visited, a well was being drilled as part of this project, which meant we heard what sounded like jack-hammering all day. When we complained, management was callous and told us: "There is noise everywhere, there is noise in the city!" The manager did not seem to appreciate that the point of being somewhere like Inness is to get away from the noise of the city. They eventually gave us a small discount, which was much appreciated, but I would encourage prospective guests to call first to inquire whether or not the construction project is ongoing. If it is, I recommend you wait! Beyond that, the amenities were somewhat spare. There is not so much as an apple or a bag of oatmeal in your room or at the Farmhouse coffee station; the only way to eat in the morning is to go up to the restaurant, which requires a shuttle or a longer walk than may be comfortable for some guests. The restaurant claims to offer room service, but no one picked up when we called to order it one morning. We then called the front desk, who had no advice to offer aside from "Just keep calling?" Repeated calls for room service were never answered. There was a sense of shared disappointment among the guests we spoke to. Some were disappointed to realize that spa services aren't yet available; others were disappointed they couldn't build fires in their room unless an attendant came down to do it. Others were disappointed that the promised "hiking trail" was actually a small path through the field (though personally I found that pretty!). Everyone we spoke to felt they had been promised more than what we got. Inness is a beautiful property, with tennis courts, two pools, a restaurant with a nice view, and fairly private cabins. With improvements to the service and amenities, it could be amazing. But I won't be returning and would suggest prospective guests vet the property carefully and adjust expectations before booking here.

"Fall 2024 at Inness"

10.0

It's tough to put in words how wonderful Inness is! This was my wife and I's third time staying at Inness and we brought my parents up for this trip as well. It was a perfect fall weekend where we enjoyed the wonderful grounds, played nine holes, swam in the heated saltwater pool and had multiple wonderful meals at the Restaurant. Not too mention a fantastic Ray's pop-up bar which is one of our Fav LES bars! Thanks again for the wonderful service and hospitality and we will see you soon! Best, Tim & Brodie

The power was out half of our stay and water wasnโ€™t working half of our stay but it was one of the most amazing places Iโ€™ve ever been. Beautiful views and great food. So many fun activities that you can do.

Stunning, perfectly designed, gives you a Tuscan vibe, relaxing resort with many activities nearby and onsite, I would suggest going spring/fall. They are currently building a spa - prices may jump after that and may be more crowded so would be nice to go before and after that opens. Hotel could use better signage when you first come in - when you arrive its a bit confusing where to go and check in etc. Staff upon arrival could be a little more helpful with explaining the property/activities available. Overall - beautiful, relaxing and enjoyable trip!

"A lovely venue that could use a few extras for the price"

8.0

A lovely venue that could use a few extras for the price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Emphasis was given to the surroundings which are gorgeous. Staff helped us with our luggage and drove us to the farm house and delivered our bags to the room. The Farmhouse rooms are small but are beautiful in a minimalist way. The bathrooms are clean and bright, though the shower and fixed glass partition allowed for a lot of water to escape onto the bathroom floor, thankfully there are extra towels provided. The self serve bar is a nice touch and the coffee and tea station is nice, but I wish they provided snacks or muffins/bagels/toast in the morning rather than relying on the restaurant that is a hike away and does not open until 8am. The farmhouse and rooms are clean and well maintained with a lot of spaces to relax in; both shaded, indoors, and outside near the pools. The adults only pool is in a great location and over looks the fields where all that you hear are crickets. We enjoyed our stay, but I feel that there could have been a few more items or services for the price, at least some small food items in the morning for early risers. The golf course is incredible and a gem that you must play. The price is good for the quality of course and I love that it is very walkable, just bring a few extra golf balls and knowledge that the greens will test all abilities.
