"Overhyped, social media marketing/influencer driven property decent facilities but abysmal service"

1.0

generally good views and good quality food at the restaurant

The experience was far below expectations, including: -the presence of numerous family pets in dining areas that are clearly family pets and not service animals -a loud and disruptive New Years Eve day and evening experience - primarily loud and unindent supervised young children, including being able to hear them throughout the Farmhouse while in our room and during the entire course of our dinner. Iโ€™ve got 2 young kids myself so I have a bit of experience on both side of this. -a New Years Eve party with no bathroom attendant, individuals clear sneaking in the back door near the unattended bathroom shed to get around check in at the door -and finally, the situation with the bed in our room, which is clearly dangerous. Furthermore, I couldnโ€™t help but notice from the open doors of other rooms being cleaned, that our room differed significantly in terms of size and appointments, including the bed frame. Overall, this was simply not a $1,600 for 2 nights type of experience in terms of ambiance or service.

"3 star stay with a potential to be a 4/5 star experience"

6.0

Currently Inness is at a 3 star level but has a lot of potential to grow -- they're still very new and could use some work to become a 4 or 5 star place. I took my sister here for her birthday weekend and we stayed in the Grand King Cabin. The check-in process was a bit awkward, it's not clear where it's located and we finally found it in the glass greenhouse store. Most of the staff were very green and inexperienced -- when we came to the greenhouse to ask questions they were giggling on the couch, totally ignored us, and gave us a bit of attitude. Our cabin was located pretty far from the front entrance, it was not walkable and we were told that we'd need to take their car service back and forth to our car. It would be nice for Inness management to consider sending an email ahead of time on 'things you should know' before check in to improve guest experience. When we got to the cabin, I have to say it was beautifully decorated, thoughtfully curated, and you can tell they put a lot into the design -- high ceilings, modern wood finishes, fireplace, king sized bed, not to mention high end amenities like Frette sheets, Aesop for the bathroom, and mini kitchenette. We were very impressed by the room, decor, and coziness -- it was certainly the best part of our stay. To and from the cabin -- Their car itself could use a good cleaning -- it was super dirty inside and didn't have any lights when it was dark out. You also have to make sure that you call or text them 15-20 min advance if you need a ride but they're not very responsive on text so calling was better. The biggest disappointment we had on the trip was when we called the car way ahead for dinner. It was pouring rain outside so we ended up waiting in our cabin for 20 minutes. We called the front desk and they said the car already came and left and that we were supposed to wait... in the pouring rain!! No thank you to that! Needless to say, we were late to our dinner reservation which was literally on their property. We had dinner later than expected, when we asked to have our fireplace lit at 9:05pm we were told that maintenance was gone for the day and that we'd have to wait for tomorrow. We were extremely disappointed that we weren't told upon check-in (we got this room specifically for the fireplace!!) and ended up lighting the fireplace successfully by ourselves. Farmhouse -- This is a great addition to the property. We enjoyed taking a walk here to grab a hot drink, lounge by the fireplace, and relax. The decor is much like a well-curated farmhouse and very nicely decorated. They had an 'honor bar' where you can make drinks for yourself, mark down what you had, and would be charged to the room. Cute idea! Restaurant -- We had both a weekend brunch here and dinner. The service was a bit inattentive but we were pleasantly surprised by the food quality and the very beautiful atmosphere. Our favorites were the berry dutch pancake, chicory & apple salad, mushroom & corn spaetzle, and cocktail offerings. Overall, it was a good experience! At the very end, we had the chance to talk to James, one of the managers, to share our experience with him. The hotel charges premium prices, especially in an area that is pretty remote, and you expect a certain level of quality in service. He tried to do what he could to make the situation better (offered us a slight discount for our stay and invited us back for the summer season with a slight discount). This isn't really what we wanted the outcome to be but we appreciated the gesture. We left with mixed feelings -- based on this experience we wouldn't come back but with improved service, new amenities (spa addition), and season we'd consider giving it a second shot.

"discreet luxury hotel. Will definitely be back again in Spring"

10.0

Comfortable rooms with a lot of privacy. Cozy beds, incredible robes and towels. The Aesop products in the room smell amazing. Rooms stocked with tea, coffee press and snacks.

As a return visitor, I enjoyed the staff at the front desk and the waiters in the restaurant are kind and accommodating to needs. We wished that room service was an option. Also not enough water available in the room. The check in is too late (4 pm) and while we got into our room at 3 pm it would be nice is this was the standard. Felt a bit rushed with the 11 am checkout (with one particular woman at the front desk) considering the breakfast at the restaurant serves til 11 am and was quite busy. 12 pm would be an ideal time for checkout given the layout of the property. Room was a bit hot even set to 66 degrees.

Excellent location for us. Breakfast was great, Room was perfect.

We didn't like having to use the Jeep truck for moving around the resort. Paths were muddy and not easy to navigate to walk to our car

This was easily the loveliest place we have ever stayed. The staff are so kind and accommodating, the food is delicious, and the grounds are beautiful. Inness has so much to offer and so many areas to explore. We couldnโ€™t have picked a better location for our engagement shoot.

"They need to just add a few touches to the room such as a box of tissues to make it more guest friendly"

6.0

The concept and style. Food was very good at dinner not so at breakfast .

No personal amenities given such as cotton wool/ buds - not a box of tissues which is very odd for a hotel
