We loved this place. Right across from the Botanic Gardens and absolutely beautiful building and surroundings. Would stay here again!
Absolutely amazing. The most beautiful hotel. The staff were a 10+. We would definitely stay there again. Wonderful central location. We weren’t able to secure a suite, although we booked several months in advance. The only criticism would be the lack of storage space. A tiny closet/wardrobe and little to no drawer space. But we made it work. We peeked in a suite and the one we saw had a bigger closet/wardrobe. So hopefully next time we can get one of those. But that aside we couldn’t have found a better place to stay.
USI loved many things about the hotel. The common spaces are beautiful and comfortable and have coffee and tea as a major plus, the minus being that the room was very small, so needed to spend a fair amount of time in the common area. We had 2 suitcases and there really wasn’t room to be able to open both. The room itself other than size was very nice and a very nice bathroom. The service from staff was great and had a luxury feel. Breakfast was adequate and more like what you would find in a European hotel. The location is perfect. We were there for only a night before taking the Tranzalpine train so the location afforded the opportunity to explore the area, including the botanical gardens and went punting (boating) on the river that was fun. If returning I would stay again but would probably bit the bullet and pay for a larger room.
NZWe stayed here for work. Loved the décor and comfortable beds. Very friendly and organised. Great location for the gallery next door and easy access to town. We walked down the road to a good restaurant for dinner and walked back – loved it. Would return to stay.
USSuperb location, across from the Botanic Gardens and a short walk to cafes and restaurants. Very interesting installation in the re-purposed university buildings. Well run - staff was effective and friendly. Room and bath were clean and well arranged. Breakfast room was small and could be crowded during our summer visit - off-set by a coffee service in the lobby.
The building is gorgeous from the outside and the entry is very classic and historic. The room itself is rather small.
