The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North

I don’t think there is any value staying here over another more updated resort. Dining options and price left much to be desired. Food was subpar and service did not make up for it.

Overall, I had a great trip to this resort. It is well maintained. Beautiful beach. This is one of the nicest resorts where I have stayed in recent years. Staff are generally quite friendly, courteous, and helpful. There is a shop on site if you forgot anything, but you will of course pay hotel prices. It is true with the other reviews say, parking can be a bit tight, but if you’re willing to ride around a bit, or Park on the ground level, you will find a spot. If there is one area of criticism I would say it is housekeeping. Staff were friendly and they tried, but there was a little bit of a lack of coordination, some details missed, and things of that nature. If you are looking for the four seasons, that is not this property. If you are looking for a beautiful resort with multiple pools, amenities, amazing views, and beach access, this resort should work just fine for you.

If you're looking for service & cleanliness, DO NOT COME HERE. We left after first night (of an 8 night prepaid stay!!!!). Dirty rooms, insanely slow check in and luggage, inhospitable poolside service. This is the opposite of paradise and don't waste your precious time and money coming here..

We’re just finishing a 10-day stay day after tomorrow and done with this timeshare. Last week was quieter and all went pretty well. Today, though, was a lot busier at the pools and hardly any open lounge chairs. My husband & I were just getting ready to sit down about 2:15 today and a volleyball just missed me! There were three teens in the pool at the volleyball net and we were targets! I reported it to the towel table manager and she “wasn’t going to interrupt the kids fun”. I suggested perhaps no volleyball when it’s so busy at the pools. She did go over to the kids and say something after) So, spent the rest of the time we were in those chairs watching the three kids to be sure we didn’t get hit again.I also watched mothers with little babies go by - the family hot tub is nearby also. I did go in to the Westin and complained to Marcus, a manager. Were kids renting volleyballs told to keep the ball under control? That if it goes out of the pool, the ball will be taken away? Any rules? His solution: will have Security check more often - a joke. He didn’t ask our names/room #. There was NO report taken of our complaint. Writing this so others will know what they might encounter and hoping someone doesn’t get injured by a volley ball going forward. Think we’ll try to find a less dangerous pool over in South Villas or the Children’s Pool area tomorrow. Watch out if coming here! They don’t really care for visitors well-being. Other issues of dissatisfaction too…

Beautiful property (beach). Fantastic Shower. Subpar dining options.

Definitely not what I expected! As a Marriott owner, I was encouraged to go to this resort. I booked an ocean view and there’s a little corner that you can see the ocean, but it’s bottom floor. You don’t see very much special with all the bushes in front. There’s a Julie balcony which I didn’t know means that you don’t get to sit outside. But also, no one ever said anything about not being able to sit outside. The call center should’ve been able to give me more information and at least told me. When I arrived and saw that I was more than happy to upgrade and use more points to get a balcony and you could not do that.They are extremely rigid and do not seem like they enjoy their job very much. Very very disappointing. The rooms are average and not what I would expect from a Marriott or Weston. Don’t come with high expectations.

Not sure why all the bad reviews as we LOVED this place. Our studio, which was supposed to be "island view" was overlooking one of the kids pools, but still had sightline to the ocean. The studio itself was huge and very clean, and we loved having a washer/dryer as well as a well arranged full bathroom and close to full kitchen. Bed was super comfortable and we were pleased with our overall experience. We were not supposed to have cleaning service as we were only there 6 nights, but cleaning occurred twice regardless. The entire staff was always friendly and helpful, and while we are not owners, we were given access to the discounts of an owner. We also were not heavily pitched, and decided not to sit for the presentation. The pools were very clean and pool and beach amenities were easily available. Both Auntie's Kitchen and Pailolos Bar and Grill were excellent and we enjoyed several sunsets with live music, the fire pit, and wonderful atmosphere. We loved the laid back feel of Maui and would definitely stay here again - we travelled on to Oahu and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in a brand new remodeled room, and much preferred our spacious studio at the Westin in Maui.

Wonderful stay at Westin Kaanapali North Villas, we are owners for the last 20 years. The stay this time was wonderful, the cleaning staff did a great job in the mid week cleaning, the food at the pool restaurant was great, the singers every evening by the fire place do a great job and the staff in general are very helpful and friendly. We are enjoying our second week in oceanfront studio then we plan to spend a 5 day stay at Marriott Kauai resort. Mahalo for a great stay.

We’re owners here and are currently onsite. We booked a studio for 5 days to connect with our week in a 1 bedroom condo. I made this reservation a year in advance. Requesting to not be in the units overlooking the kids pools. That’s where they were going to put us! After quite a few minutes they came up with a different option and we were told it was clean and just needed to be inspected and then they would text us it was ready. It was 4:30 when we finally got to our unit. This unit is so beat up and dirty and is in need of a complete overhaul. Walls are dirty, dinged up everywhere, streaks running down, paint chipped, baseboards are thrashed, carpet is filthy, soaking tub is dirty, dishes are dirty, curtains have what looks like a bloodstained spot and are broken. We first met with a Manager named Alice. The irony of sitting on dirty, stained worn cushions on the couch in the lobby waiting to discuss our dirty room was very telling. Alice came and saw our room and agreed that it was not up to their standards. Well someone else inspected it and cleared it! We then heard from Delaney at 10:30 and were told of a lot of things that we can’t do and how limited they are as staff to help us due to how their system works. We couldn’t move to a 1 bedroom and be able to stay for our entire stay, we couldn’t move to a different building etc etc. We have a memorial service to attend and couldn’t be here to change rooms so they expected us to get everything ready to move at 6 am and then couldn’t guarantee that we would have a room yet when we returned from the paddle out! No give on their part at all. We waited 4 hours for her to call us back and we had to call her. She said she left a message, we had no missed calls. This whole experience has us questioning our desire to remain owners. We will see what they do when we move to our 1 bedroom in 3 days. We opted to not move another time due to no way of knowing how long that would take. The property is in need of repairs and deep cleaning everywhere. Lobby furniture, pool cushions, doors are dirty, carpet in hallways is stained. Windows are dirty, our hallway had bags of trash and laundry with pots and pans on it for the first day. This is not what we bought and are paying for with our maintenance fee. This is unacceptable and we are seriously disappointed. I will update after we check into the one bedroom unit next week. At this point we don’t recommend it as it’s seriously gone downhill in everything except price.

the property overall is exquisite especially the grounds and of course the views. The room for the one night was a bit "tired" looking. It's in need of an update. The shower and toilet room could use a definite update. There was no trash receptacle in the bathroom. We were there for only one night so it didn't matter.

The staff are great. Smiley was wonderful at the check-in desk. She's a keeper! Lives up to her name.
