Beautiful but way too loud. It doesn’t matter how stunning the architecture is when you can hear every conversation from the lobby in your room. And most rooms face the lobby. There is also nowhere for groups to go at night after 10pm to enjoy each other’s company. Our group of friends celebrating a birthday were kicked out of the library at 10pm every night for being too loud. And we were just sitting down talking while enjoying drinks. The cost is too much for the noise factor. Sad because it’s beautiful and the staff tries, but many of the front desk workers are too young and don’t understand the nuances of good service. Several of our friends experienced issues with their reservations which was also unacceptable. My advice is to confirm your reservation a month before you arrive over the phone. But honestly, there are many other places to stay that don’t cost as much and offer more amenities. I really wanted to like this place, but it’s like a supermodel with no brains. All beauty and zero substance.

Buyer beware. We reserved this hotel 6 months in advance and 2 weeks before our trip they cancelled on us saying the hotel was overbooked. There was no attempt to assist us to find another hotel, we were left high and dry. For the reviews about the excellent customer service I did not experience this today.

The best there is, by far, I almost don’t want to leave a review incase it limits our access to this exceptional property. It’s tough to know where to start with a review of Casa Polanco. Easily top three hotels we have ever stayed in, worldwide.

Amazing place, everything is just perfect and there is a lot of attention to details . The hotel is beautiful, the staff is so friendly, you feel cared and treated beautifully, the food is gorgeous and please don’t forget to try the amazing mezcalita offered by the house. It deserves the highest score by all means.

I have stayed in many 5 star hotels, and this is the best. Their motto is "welcome home" and that is the way it always feels. It is like arriving home; you ring the doorbell on the secluded gate and someone answers it right away, greeting you by name with a smile on their face, asking if you would like a beverage or something to eat. The restaurant is open from 7 am to 11 pm and you can wander in at any hour and get delicious food and beverage. Everyone on the staff is wonderful. The manager of the hotel walked us the 1/2 mile to our restaurant when we asked for directions. Absolutely incredible experience.

Above all...the service is beyond excelente!. As to the hotel it self MARVELOUS! Location perfect. Their moto " esta en tu casa" make yourself at home...true! Every single person smiled, offer help, unpecable and should anything be amassed they where quick to apologize.

I am very glad I chose to stay here for our first trip to CDMX and will recommend it to friends that appreciate boutique accommodations. Casa Polanco is located across the street from a park and the whole area is nice for strolling, very green, dining, shops. We lived in NYC and I did not know any other city could rival the traffic there! Returning here after a day out is peaceful. There aren't huge bustling crowds in the hotel lobby, waiting for an elevator, and the staff readily offers refreshments (there are lots) that can be enjoyed in the library, indoor/outdoor feeling courtyard or in your room. We passed by the large hotel chains and all of them are bigger buildings and mostly lead out to busy boulevard areas. I had a short chat with Roberto about the building and history of the area. I mentioned it would be neat to have a photo book of the property from its early days to see the transformation. Also maybe a short history of the area (large haciendas of berry farms, several of which are restaurants now). Breakfast has a nice selection of fruits, bread/cheese, pastries, yogurt, juices, and a hot food menu. Staff is very attentive all around. The area is lively well into the night but there aren't any noisy restaurants or bars closeby. Street-facing rooms get traffic noise as that small street does get quite a bit of cars. Our shower water didn't get particularly hot. It seemed the temp control dial would only go to lukewarm. I did ask about it but it wasn't be remedied. Also the desk area could use more outlets or an extension cord (for those that sadly have to work on vaca). Overall comfortable and pleasant stay!
