Karao - Guancaste Airport

Upon arrival there were many bugs in our room. It was very unsettling to sleep. The property manager did respond with a partial refund for the inconvenience.

Small, locally operated place to stay near LIR. Hospitable staff, clean comfortable rooms, excellent food.

Unable to find menu according to the hotel direction in order to preorder dinner 24hours ahead.

I love the little balcony off the room with the large windows, and the air conditioning was great after almost two weeks without any. The room needed some maintenance, and I did not see any smoke detector. There was also some confusion the next day with transportation. I was supposed to get airport shuttle included, but when they called the taxi, the taxi was not aware of it. It took some doing, but they got it straightened out.

Room facilities were old/dingy, no toiletries whatsoever (hand or shower soap), lighting switches of the room were not conveniently located.

Lovely place and kind staff

This property is still being updated but well on its way. The manager was fabulous. The room was bright and airy. Very comfortable. I was told they are planning many updates such as coffee maker and mini fridge in the rooms. However, is a very cozy wonderful place. I would recommend.

We stayed in the room that was several flights up and there's no elevator so there may be accessiblity issues. However, it's very convenient because the property is on the main road in Liberia so less than 10 mins from the airport and there's a shopping center that's walkable. It's perfect for a short term stay. Karina is a wonderful host and the food at the restaurant is delicious.

There is wildlife in the ceiling, either rats, or possums, or something else that does not stop making noises all night long. I could not sleep at all.
