Karao - Guancaste Airport

The AC works well, you will get cold if you put it too low. The sheets seemed to have some lint and tiny hairs on them so i dont know if there hasn't been anyone to stay in that room a while or what but it was something i noted. The wifi did not work so well. We didn’t get service in our room unless we stood right next to our door, where there was a router on the top of the other side. Even in the lobby we did not have wifi. The area is kind of out there, not much near by. There weren't many people staying in the hotel, we may have been the only ones. But there is a cafe in the hotel open until 4, and there is a buffet, a 10 minute walk away. The people who owned the hotel were very sweet and lovely and spoke some English. The food for breakfast was delicious and the watermelon smoothie was super tasty. Overall, good stay the people were very helpful in getting us our taxi to the airport and the food was amazing.

Nice and close to airport which was nice as our flight came in at 10 pm. Hotel caters to the residents. Breakfast is great and comes with beverage, even if its made while you wait. Oh and the pineapple smoothies... are fabulous. A must have, or two or three.

Booked this because of nearness to the airport. Our room was very spacious and clean! Towels were a bit thin, like microfibre. The address was difficult to find as spelling was different than what our taxi driver had. The name of the café is what we should have used. Café and coffee downstairs in the morning was wonderful! Café staff very friendly! Would pick a hotel with shuttle next time, but the price was great here!

The check-in didn’t go as smooth as expected as communication from the United States did not go through for the property owner to be there when we arrived and for us to have food from their café, waiting for us as offered. But she came soon after, and all went well ultimately.

Nice people but no wifi and it’s right on a busy road. Not worth close the ask .

I stayed 1 night and hotel was fine. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and free breakfast was delicious. It is not a long stay hotel unless you have a car as it is a distance from everything.

Hotel Is locked. Nobody available to check in.

We only stayed there for 1 night. Didn’t sleep at all because this hotel is right by the side of the street, you hear all the traffic and chickens, dogs all night long. A/C was not strong. One of the rooms only had a fan. We had problems with the A/C remote control and the WIFI. Luckily the hotel owner was there and was able to solve the problems for us. Rooms have no blackout curtains, so not only you hear all the noise, you see all the head/tail lights from vehicles passing by flashing in the rooms. There is a coffee shop downstairs, but we left too early and didn’t try it.

If you are looking for a bed with air conditioning near the hotel this place will do. Clean and private. Breakfast from the cafe was the best part of my stay. Do make sure to get in contact with hostess before leaving wifi service. I arrived just prior to 8pm. No hostess and building was locked. with no sim card or wifi and had to ask my taxi driver (in poor spanish) to call the phone number and ask how to get in. The wifi was not working in my bedroom.it only worked in the hallway. There was no comfort items like filtered water to drink, or soap to wash hands.

Never was able to check in as reception was unavailable and unable to be found. Stopped by twice and used private instructions to access a security box for a key of which was not there. Unsure if I was scammed or not, but the facility seemed nice from when I was trying to find a single staff member.
