Ricardo and his family were amazing! They were helpful, generous with their dining recommendations, and just overall exceptional. Luckily, we rented a 4WD, which was ABSOLUTELY necessary given the steep, unpaved access road to the property. The room was delightful, clean, and spacious. The property, including the pool, suffered from years of deferred maintenance. The pictures on Expedia look like they were taken YEARS ago. We almost checked out immediately but the staff were too amazing to leave.

This is a hidden gem! I always enjoy unique places to stay and this fit the bill. Very welcoming, felt like I was visiting family. Take note of other reviews about the driveway conditions and directions. I am a country girl so it didn’t bother me, but it is a bit tricky. The rooster added charm and I enjoyed the early wake up call. I would definitely come back for another stay!

As you all know the road to paradise is never an easy one, so is the road leading to Serena hotel however once you reach this peace of paradise believe Me, You will not want leave . First thing first. Must have a 4 by 4 vehicle to get down and up the road. If only I could add a video cause describing it does not do it justice But once you go up and down once or twice you will be a pro like us. We stayed in the lemonade room for 4 magical days. Every corner of the hotel was super clean and our room smelled amazing. This family redefine hospitality, they make us feel like an extended family. We vacationed 4 times a year for the past 15years either as family or has a couple and Ricardo, his lovely wife Glory & daughter plus Joseph are the most gracious hosts we ever encountered during our travels so far. They will go above and beyond to ensure that you're comfortable, You can contact them 24/7 any hours of the day/night and they will answer and execute your wishes. Their commitment to hospitality is unmatched. Ricardo is very knowledgeable, He can help you save or direct you on outing like el yunque rain forest, luquillo Beach, Lechoneras, Guavate etc.. What an amazing experience, we cannot wait to go back to PR in August for our family vacation, and Thank You to all the Staffs at SERENA Hotel for an unforgettable experience. We will surely recommend this location. PS: Must try Glory's oatmeal. it's to die for.

Serena Boutique Hotel is a true hidden gem nestled in the lush tropical rainforest just outside of San Juan. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by the incredible hosts, Ricardo and Glory, and their wonderful family. Their warmth and genuine hospitality made us feel not just like guests—but like part of the family. Our 7-day stay was nothing short of heaven. It rejuvenated our minds, bodies, and souls, offering the perfect escape into nature and tranquility. Glory’s breakfasts were an absolute highlight—each morning brought fresh, delicious, homemade meals that were made with love and always started our day with a smile. If you're looking for a peaceful, heartwarming experience surrounded by beauty and kindness, Serena Boutique Hotel is the place to be. We’re already counting down the days until we return!

We loved the spot, it’s breathtaking and we will absolutely be back. The staff is exceptional and very accommodating. Something to note; this property is under renovation after years of neglect. While it was perfect for us, we were not in the market for a resort. The hot tub was warm at best and same goes for the shower. There are areas that you can’t access for your own safety but still plenty of room. Very safe, very clean, very beautiful spot.

Ricardo was our host and was so friendly, helpful, and kind! He provided recommendations for visiting the island. The property is beautiful, away from the busyness of San Juan. Loved hearing the frogs sing us to sleep every night. Not your typical hotel, what it misses in amenities is more than made up for in beautiful scenery, fresh breakfast, and friendly staff!

Our stay was truly magical. Besides the fact that the property is truly a dream with the views and nature sounds, the room was so big and bed was very comfortable. The owners are the best people! We felt we were around family, they took care of us as one of their own and as two women traveling alone, we will forever be thankful for that. Our hope is that this place thrives and that we can come back with our families soon.
