Humbug Cottage

The cottage was absolutely charming, plenty of character but still modern and clean! Great use of the space and a wonderful location close walking distance to local pubs and eateries! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the bed linen and towels soft and cosy! Everything we needed and more!!!

Only thing I could possibly mention would be the cottage might be missing a coffee table, somewhere to put a mug whilst in the living area! (The footstools, breakfast bar and dining table are great) A few spiders had crept in since housekeeping but were no bother! ;)

The central location was great for enjoying the village. The house had everything we needed.

Not really the houses fault but the church next door rings it's bells on the hour EVERY hour, including through the night and it's really loud. By the third or fourth night we'd begun to not notice it as much and were only being woken up a couple of times, but the first nights were bad, with very little sleep. I've never known a church to chime all through the night so didn't even register it as a potential problem when booking.

Could have done with a family bathroom rather than 2 en-suites meaning those in the third bedroom have to come into your bedroom in the night if they need the loo. But if you are a family it doesn’t matter 😊

Fantastic old cottage with modern interior in heart of the village, easy parking and great walks and short drives from the door. We stayed extra nights.
