Mountaineer Inn

We've been staying here every summer for the past 10 years. Sadly, our most recent stay will be our last. Every single amenity is out of service. The pool is green with algae, the old hot tub is just a big breeding ground for mosquitos, and the new hot tub is empty. Even the coffee maker is broken. Paint is peeling everywhere. Our "private balcony" in our suite is extremely unsafe. The boards are not attached and are bending. The rail is also detached. By the way there is no breakfast here anymore. Not even coffee. I would have mentioned all of this to the management but there was no one there. So sad to see our favorite inn go downhill so fast after the new owners took over. At the rate they're going, this inn will probably be condemned in a year or two.

Had some issues on check and and no inn keepers or anyone at the site but after several phone calls and text which we assume was the owners got resolved.

It was ok for the price. I could hear the people walking around above me but that stopped by bedtime. The room didn’t have a refrigerator so I went to the community refrigerator but it was tiny. There were no towels in the bathroom but an automated text directed me where to find them in the hall. The volume on the tv wouldn’t go beyond 14 so it was difficult to hear, especially with the air conditioner on. The pool was not functioning and I had left my activity early so I could go for a swim. The shower was pretty good and the bed was comfortable.

The stay was fine as it was a value based decision. The room was nice, clean and bathroom was good. TV and Ac worked well. However, the pool was closed, and no advance notice was given. Was a main reason for choosing this location and it was a holiday weekend. So it was disappointing and the pool was green. Also, the coffee machine was also out of service. Otherwise the off-season stay was fine.

The rooms were compact, but appeared to be newly remolded. Bathroom small, but nicely done and clean. Lots of common space for groups to hang out, indoors and out. Easy, contactless check in. Be sure to read the ammenities. No refrigerator or microwave in room. We finally found a small fridge in a common space, but there wasn't any room for our food as others had their food in there. My biggest issue was that we drove out of our way to have a hotel with a pool. Their webpage highlights a beautiful outdoor pool-- perfect for the 90 degree weekend. When we arrived, a small sign on the registration desk said that the pool was closed. By the looks of the water, it had been closed for more than a day or two, plenty of time for the hotel to notify their guests. There should be a discount when a significant ammenty is unavailable as this was the only reason we booked this hotel with our kids. Outside of the hotel is shabby and common spaces are dated, but nice.

We went to this area for a mother/daughter summer weekend. The value of the room was perfect, we only needed a place to sleep and no amenities. The place was easy to find with ample parking. There is no breakfast available on the premises but options close by. Communication: There was no staff in sight throughout the time we were there, however, they communicate really well via text (like excellent communication that included general questions, entering the room (they send you the door code and room number with directions), check out (same via text), and they send recommendations of restaurants, coffee etc that were very useful) Rooms: We stayed in a double (full size beds). Room was big enough for 2 but it could be snug for 4. Room and bathroom were very clean clean. There's also no mini fridge, microwave or hair dryer. There's earth friendly refillable toiletries. They do need to update the carpets, no smell but just old and takes away from their renovation. Common areas: Pool wasn't ready for the season but the area looked really nice. The common room was dated but clean, I can't wait to see what they do with it when they update it.

The place has clearly been renovated but i feel that they need to upgrade a little more the common areas to match their lovely entry. The carpets need to be updated throughout the inn. If the coffee maker is out, they should have thought of a different option like perhaps instant? There are driving distance options that are really good but coffee and tea available is a must anywhere you stay.

I had an excellent stay at the Mountaineer Inn. The Inn was very clean, quiet, and peaceful. I just wish the pool was available for use. I’m confident the I will stay at the Mountaineer Inn again in the future.

Clean, quiet room. Not very spacious for more than 2 guests.

Quiet area, cozy lounge

Check in just ok. All online. No staff present to assist. Room was small and poorly equipped. No fridge or microwave. There was no coffee machine in the room or common areas. No ice machine or water/soft drink machines. Dont think we would return.
