"A very relaxing stay"

I thoroughly enjoyed the aesthetics of the property and how comfortable the rooms were. The staff was very professional and responsive. The onsen facility was clean and relaxing. I look forward to visiting again.

"Hardware - Perfect, Software - Underwhelming in a few incidents"

Stayed 2 nights at Kai Yufuin. We stayed at the Villa with Outdoor Onsen. The room is immaculately furnished, and it is in a pristine condition. The entire Resort is very architecturally crafted and very pleasing to the eyes. The resort was built upon a terrain where paddy field becomes your daily views for you to soak in. In early spring however, it is just the terraces with ponding of water. We bought a Half Board plan (Breakfast & Dinner). The Western Breakfast honestly was underwhelming and the Japanese Breakfast didn't change a single bit for my 2 breakfast. The Kaiseki Dinner, it was ok but nothing much to shout about compared to other Japanese Traditional Ryokan's Kaiseki Dinner we have tried. The portion of the Western Breakfast is "limited" and if you are a big eater, you are going to be very disappointed and if you wish to order more that will cost you extra even if you just asking for more "bread". We find it unbelievable and unacceptable, as the entire accommodation price is not cheap especially the room category that we paid for. In each dinner, we asked for more pickles for the rice. The next day, we have to keep asking. They don't observe your "preference", service wise they are far from "service excellence" in our opinion. We wanted to book for the shuttle to town, that is also the shuttle they feeder their customers to take the intercity trains or highway buses hence it is always fully booked. They should increase the shuttle service for popular period during the day. Our biggest disappointment was when I present them a 10,000 YEN (equivalent to 70 USD) to break into 1,000 YEN, they responded "We don't provide this service". It is not that they don't have the notes, THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO DO IT. I find it absurd and a big shame to Hospitality industry. Hardware - Perfect, Software - Underwhelming in a few incidents noted above.

"Best resort ever with amazing staff "

It was my first time at a Hoshio Resort and i was so amazed and I can't give you enough stars! Resort itself was super zen and amazing. It was perfect place to relax and enjoy Japanese bath, food, and massage. Staff was also beyond the moon! We had to put on snowchains on our way out because it was snowing and we were struggling when staff (Kuroiwa) came out and helped us with the hard work. Thank you so much again.

"What a horrible experience we had "

This hotel is a disappointment, especially considering its price and the expectations we had. The service at check-in was negligent, and overall, it felt as though the staff didn’t care about us at all. Here are two of our numerous disappointments: 1. We understand that dinner is part of the package and can’t be avoided. However, why should we be limited to just the early dinner seating at 5:30 PM (even though there’s a second seating at 7:30 PM), which affects our other plans? This caused us to miss our dinner without receiving a refund or credit. 2. We know the restaurant serves only a set menu. But both my wife and I are restricted from eating certain dishes—some of which can even be dangerous to us. I was surprised we weren’t asked if we have any allergies or dietary restrictions. I was even more surprised to hear our server’s response to our inquiry about it: “It’s our hotel’s policy NOT to ask our customers if they have any allergies or preferences.” This statement encapsulates our experience at this hotel. Never again.

"絕對好選擇,環境優美的溫泉酒店"

新而又十分舒適的溫泉酒店。星野集團旗下酒店不需多介紹,服務人員服務質素很好。 食物需未算非常精彩但也很美味。房間得大,我是次入住的房間內備有溫泉浴,加上乾濕分離浴室屬高質素。環境除了大自然環境外,還有特別的稻田(棚田)景觀,加上燈飾,樹蔭,開揚的山景,令心情舒暢。酒店更備有免費車位。價格以此水平實在算不俗。
